Well, sure, but did you watch the game last night? That BYU squad is significantly smaller, slower and far less talented than UT. I'll be shocked if we don't dominate from the first snap and pull away pretty quickly. The young guys and backups should get plenty of playing time these next few games preparing for UF.

Yes, and that's my point. We need these early games to be learning curve games for the young guys. We have a lot of inexperienced players who need to get battle-tested before UF. Play them, let them make mistakes and learn from them.

I've always expected BYU to be a W, for the very reasons you state. They'll be out-talented. But that doesn't mean it can't be a productive W for a lot of young guys who need to get better faster.

If our OL is improved and can actually block run and pass plays, we will have a fun season. Tomorrow should be a blowout.
It's sad and funny at the same time. Our offense has the potential to be one of the most explosive in the country except for that massive weakness known as the OL. Hopefully they aren't a weakness this year. As Pruitt said, some of their struggles were because, thanks to the intern, guys had to play who weren't ready. They weren't big enough, they needed a couple of years to develop, but they were forced to play early. Well, that shouldn't be the case now. Surely they will be improved.

Good morning RF friends. Tomorrow it's "Football time in Tennessee!"

Today is surgery day for my better half, my wife. A little over a year ago she had hip replacement surgery and it went really well. It went so well she's decided it's time for the other hip. So today she receives her new wonder woman hip.

So, any thoughts and prayers her way would be appreciated. Although fairly routine, anytime one goes under the knife it carries some risk so we take nothing for granted. Pray for me too as it's my job to make sure she makes it home and stays as comfortable as possible over the next few days.
Prayers for her and you🙏

I'm glad. As talented as DW is, I didn't want to start the season with 2 freshmen tackles. If DW takes over midway through the season then that's great. But I like the idea of having experience. I'm worried about Wanya at LT. Hopefully he'll be ready by week 4.

I wouldn't be surprised if JJ starts but if it's Wanya, it will be good to have Trey next to him making sure he gets all the calls and just being a brick wall in general.

Saw Mullen at the cross dress bar last night. I called him out and I he gave me a look..

I would feel much better about this as an indicator if I hadn’t heard how confident the staff was about the WVU game last year. Hope they are right this time.
Where is this thing of the staff telling everyone we would beat WV come from?

I know a VN poster said Pruitt told a booster that but the story of him "telling everyone". I missed what happened.

In fairness, the coaches/staff are always gonna say their confident. You can’t go into a game and not say those things if your on staff. At least this year we know we’ve actually got some pieces and depth to work with.

I talked to Peyton last night too. I asked him if Calhoun’s on the River had the beat best ribs. He said, “no man, Applebee’s has the best ribs...period”.

Fake News Peyton IMO. Only weirdos are on the Applebee's train. Chili's 3 for $10 is where it's at.
