I think most of us would agree in just about every Situation a kid deserves a second change to make things right. I think Nearly all of us agrees with the Saban clip circulating the last few days.

The issue that this new news brings is has he already been given a second chance. From
My seat it appears to be when we took him that was his second chance. That’s why I just don’t think we can ignore the past
No one’s ignoring anything. Your “solution” is always gauged to elicit argument...so that’s where we’re at.

Soap box time, from someone who rarely posts.

I hope at some point our society can gain some perspective of the middle ground instead of the constant taking sides, headlining grabbing, hot take culture we currently have. Reporting and social media/message boards would be much better off. In my opinion (admittedly without knowing any of the people involved or the circumstances), Thompson didn’t do anything that warrants the university or Bryce being crucified or cast away. There’s been no documented or reported physical harm done to anybody as a result of the university or BT’s actions. At the same time, it seems he needs help in anger management, relationships/choosing who to associate with, counseling and/or education on how to diffuse instead of escalate these situations. Hell, the same can be said for about half the population (see divorce rate). Both can be true, as many here have said. Hopefully, Bryce can have a long successful career at UT and make a positive impact on society because of the wisdom he gains from his past actions, and the help of those around him.

Btw, Aubrey eligible is huge for this season! Happy for him and the team.
Post more often.

Who knows if he is though. Maybe he was working with the coaches when the media wasn't looking the other 99% of practice today. My only point is that he's still a freshman been here less than a year. Maybe he's a bust maybe not. But writing off someone as a bust when they still have 4 years of eligibility left is a bit hasty. Imo.

Not to split hairs but he's a redshirt freshman who played in four games last year, so had an entire season to practice... had winter, spring, and now in fall camp. About to start his second season technically... I don't want the kid to be a bust, lord knows we need him to step up and shine, never said I thought he would be, but I am just not getting vibe that he is "all in" with the program, by what I see and read... I'll drop it because I seem to get folks jimmies rustled when I bring it up--- guess we will soon see how it all plays out.

He's still been enrolled less than a year and still has 4 years of eligibility right?

All I know is that for the past four years, I think we've all seen kids around the country at other programs do much worse and it is either written off, swept under the carpet, or someone makes a justification that it isn't a big deal... kids with stolen guns, kids actually physically assaulting women, kids with drugs, DUI's, etc... and they were punished, but still were on the team and played...

Punish him, have someone qualified to talk it through with him, and then give him another chance to make it right. He still deserves to wear Orange for me.

Starting reading trying to catch up, but I'm going to have to get this off my chest so I do not unfairly take it out on one. Find it appalling at the people jumping to conclusions and deciding punishment when they know nothing about the situations (especially reporters). My son had a crazy girlfriend in high school that accused him of hitting her. We had to go to court. No evidence, but the judge ordered him to stay away from her. Her mom told all the teachers to watch him and let her know if he came near her. He had to run through the halls to get away from her because she just wanted to talk to him. We had to go back to court, but this time we had the texts from the crazy mother threatening him. Restraining order against all 3. Years later she apologized and said she just wanted her dad's attention. He had dumped the first family and started a new one with a new daughter. If he had been playing sports at the time it would have been even worse on him....and he had never even hit a male let alone a female. Don't be so quick to think you KNOW what is going on. Sad that the courts and university could not handle the situation. Apparently there isn't anything legal here to charge him with. The university should handle the part about threats to the school for alleged "shooting up the school" comment. Fulmer and Pruitt should determine what help he needs for anger issues and his football career. Unfortunately the press is going to be the press. (But, hey, she didn't stab him so...)

this is not about how much time he has to play... who cares... this is about how much time he has been part of this program and still seems to be sputtering and not making an impact. Yes, he's been dinged up, but a kid with this much potential coming in should be playing a bigger role in the program by now.
As I said, we'll see how it plays out and where he ends up, hope he finds his lane/groove and eventually balls for us.... but as of today, it doesn't sound like he's anywhere close.
