"Bryce Thompson is suspended indefinitely while the process continues. We hold our student-athletes to a high standard. The safety of all students is our first priority here at Tennessee."
Can you refer to the part where I said they would or should do nothing about it? I can't find it...No. If he said something about shooting up the school and they do nothing about it, UT will feel the ire of the national media and its own fans. After what this country has gone through over these shootings there is no place for that. If he can’t deal with society without making threats then he needs to go.
Nailed it.Pruitt will use this very minor situation as a teachable moment IMO. By the time he gets through with it young Thompson and the team will believe he's committed something along comparatively to the Manson murders. Only through Pruitt's big heart and magnanimous influence will Thompson be suspended for a few games rather than kicked off the team. Hero Pruitt, lesson learned Thompson and team is my prediction.
I love how some people just assume what witnesses say is true and crucify the accused. AJ Johnson (although not the same circumstance criminally) was wrongfully accused of something, had “witnesses” one being his own dang teammate. Guess what happened? They were lying the entire time. Don’t assume he said he is going to “shoot up the school” based of ONE PERSON’S recollection of the argument that occurred. Bryce is innocent until proven guilty, how it should be. We need to support our student athletes in these situations until proven guilty, not the other way around.

You can’t joke about shooting up the school in the heat of anger this day and age. But if it is just heated words it shouldn’t destroy a kid’s life. I’ve heard grown men/women tell a foe “I’m gonna kill you...” in the heat of a verbal fight. Threatening murder with no intention of it. People say stupid reckless things in anger. He gone!
Pruitt gonna set an example, I'm afraid.
Have you not been paying attention to the Title IX, MeToo, and Mass Shootings that have been going on the past couple years? It has nothing to do with being charged with a crime. It is the way the "shoot the school up" comment has already been portrayed in the national media as a fact. The school administrators will be under tremendous pressure to expel BT form the school. I don't think CJP or Fulmer will have the final call on this. They will have to convince a bunch of PC administrators that don't care about football to let BT remain in school.Everyone keeps mentioning the "shoot up the school" comment that may or may not have been made but as far as I know he wasn't charged with making any kind of terroristic threat. If he wasn't charged it should be a non factor. It usually means there was not enough evidence to support the claim. I would be shocked if anything came out of this other than Thompson possibly being ordered to take some anger management classes.
