They both heard different parts. So what? Physics much? Depending on where they were at the time they were hearing shouting. You don’t need this spelled out for you.

If he survives this somebody needs to get in his ear and remind him his actions for the next 3 years will determine if he's making 6 or 7 figures in the NFL or washing dishes at Applebee's for 8 bucks an hour
Then you have another report saying a witness didn't hear him say that....They can.
“Thompson was identified by a witness, who saw him yelling in the stairwell. He claimed to hear both alleged threats and heard "a loud crashing sound, presumably when the gate was ripped off," according to the arrest warrant.
Two other witnesses heard parts of the exchange, but could not see Thompson as the first witness impeded their view. Both stated "it was the same time and incident" that the first witness reported.”
