Yes but in the report they say was obtained, he denied making a threat against the school. The other “witnesses” did not even see Thompson they said they only heard his voice. Also, is that even the context he actually stated it in. I doubt the kid said the exact words “I am going to shoot up the school.” Plus, heat of the moment doesn’t warrant being kicked out of school. Unless the kid has the means and motive to actually shoot up the school it is only rage and anger. Might make him go to anger management classes.

I’m pretty sure he gets off with no charges on this one besides vandalism and that’s even if the school wants to charge him with that which I doubt. They will probably make him do community service.

The rage and anger, along with threats to shoot up the school, is the first warning sign of people who shoot up schools, malls, concerts, etc.

On the other hand. I could see smoother student freaking out saying " OMG, I HOPE HE DON'T COME BACK AND SHOOT UP THE SCHOOL". And it turning into someone claiming they heard him make those threats. Either way, this sucks for him

Actually threatening violence against someone is assault if the person threatened believes you intend to follow through. The act of committing the violence is battery. You can be charged with assault with a deadly weapon just by pointing a gun at someone and threatening to shoot them.
