Gun control debate (merged)

And you are doing the two step this am to get away from the issue . Define dangerously crazy .
I understand perfectly why you refuse to answer......and you know therein lies the big dilemma.
Dangerously crazy would be someone considered to have an unacceptable probability of harming others or themselves.

Who decides this ? Do red flag laws determine that a person that has not committed a crime is a dangerously crazy person ?

Locking away people who are a danger to others is preferable to taking away the property and rights of people who are not a danger.
LOL.....If we can't accurately identify with 100% accuracy who is crazy enough to warrant taking their guns, it seems a little silly to think we can accurately identify with 100% accuracy people who are crazy enough to lock up. I would rather ere in temporarily taking one's guns unjustifiably than locking them up unjustifiably. Plus it's a whole lot cheaper and less governmentaly intrusive.

If you cant arrest them, no. We already have things you can do if you need protection or someone is a danger. Taking away guns and rights.from innocents wont change danger.
Well then that is were you and I (as well as 90% of the public) disagree.
But if that is the negotiating position of the gun crowd (I didn't use the word nuts), then by all means arrest those people. It's more expensive and intrusive and takes away more rights, but hey, it's all about 2A.

If the right of the individual to bear arms is conditional for percieved safety to society, is freedom of religion also conditional?
There are certainly restrictions and limitations to freedom of religion.
And taking away guns from a crazy person is kind of like quarantining someone with an infectious disease.
Occasionally the rights of the many must override the right of an individual.

Ok so about them voter IDs with a federal data base as a background check . If we are doing it for the good of the many , I’m onboard when do we start ?

Let's also do a DNA test to make sure we have no Martians or other space aliens voting. We can never be too safe an I right?
Martians and other space aliens are welcome to immigrate legally and become citizens eventually. You’re pretty far over the top with your hyperbole lately.

Certain speech in certain crowded environments is limited, too. There are limitations currently enforced on constitutional freedoms, including firearms.

How do you feel about shutting down US Mosques where radical or violent Islam is preached?

Human sacrifice.
Slaughtering goats in the front yard of your neighborhood.
Snake handling.
I've met some snake handlers. Wow!

Animal sacrifice is allowed.

Human sacrifice isn't...it violates another's rights.

That was my point.
US Mosques that call people to violence against others should be exposed and possibly prohibited.
Lots of grey area. I see most everything mostly in of gray.

Why the qualifier on radical mosques but no qualifier on unstable folks and 2A?

But you have to convince a critical mass of society that voter ID's with a federal data base as a background check is appropriate.

Mosques are just like cults if they start preaching death to America. The "Branch Davidians" were probably a lot less radical than Omar and Thalib are.
