That's not Pruitt's point at all. If you're trying to build a championship level team, you first have to know what one looks like. His staff not only knows what championship programs look like, they've been a part of developing them. Pruitt's right to make that point because it's an important part of how and why he put his staff together.Maybe it helps recruiting, but I don't like all that "championship by association" stuff... kinda like lower rung SEC teams chanting SEC SEC SEC when they beat a non conference average team...hate riding on someone else's coat tails.

Thanks JohnnyJava! I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me...
Furthermore, that fact does hold relevance because our coaches know what it takes to get it done. It’s not just a recruiting tool. It gives players confidence in buying into the system too.
Much like our own Pat Summitt in her day. What it takes is having Saban as a head coach. No one from his coaching tree has won a championship yet. I assume Dooley was on his 04 LSU staff and Sunseri was at Bama for at least one.
Saban’s “secret” is having more talent than the teams he plays and getting that talent to buy in. Other coaches have done breakdowns of Bama film and they all agree he isn’t doing anything revolutionary, he just has better players than everyone he plays.
