WR and RB were the only positions he really ever coached. I just never got the sense that he was comfortable getting really hands on with any other positions. Off the top of my head, I can remember blurbs about Pruitt working in individual drills with DBs, DL, OL, and WRs.


Pruitt may not turn out to be the guy as a HC to get us back where we want to go, but IMO he clearly has much, much more football knowledge than Jones does. I don’t think it’s close at all. That was my

I didn’t ruin it. I just find it that experience and age brings knowledge to this board. When you have seen this board worship every move of Kiffin, Dooley, Butch and now Pruitt by saying the same kind of things about each it is very well worth discussing that many things people here say is just plain not accurate.

I mean we had a poster yesterday claiming that since Pruitts kids sing rocky top that he’s certainly here for the long run. I mean it’s really hard to forgot The exact thing was said when Lane named his kid knox.


But of course maybe movie talk is more appropriate here I guess

I've been here for all that too. You could let him know that's silly without going down a 10 page hole of Pruitt is definitely going to bama misery. Fighting hyperbole with hyperbole is a losing situation for everyone in the thread. And it's all about a distant hypothetical that is pointless to even talk about. I enjoy debating with you because you never get offended or take unnecessarily personal shots but sometimes you get people in a rabbit hole and they get lost and can't find their way out. hahahaha.

No convincing needed, I haven't crowned him either. But we both know that's not what you're interested in.



Maybe someone will say something good about him in the next couple of days and you can find a way to incorporate Dooley, Fl and Vandy. You managed to miss those. But keep your head up champ.

I’d give Pruitt a solid B- grade so far. There are plenty of reasons to think he’s going to get it done here. Hiring Helton cost him a full letter grade and then failing to beat Vandy moved him from a B to a B- imo.

I understand people being excited about him but to claim he’s a real football coach because he works with a position group and that our other failed coaches didn’t do that is having blinders on

He knows he can't change the mind of 1 optimist and he honestly doesn't care. He'd argue the opposite if that's what it took. Like he's been caught doing a hundred different times.

He got what he wanted, "look at me" and disruption.

The blinder wearer is the guy who goes on and on about what people think about CJP working with a position group and not paying any attention to past and present players who speak up on his behalf. A half hearted 'oh that's nice' is weak sauce.

I don't think many would take issue with that grade for his first season. Seems fair to me. He made some mistakes. But I do think he showed enough in the season, especially against Georgia, Auburn and Kentucky, as well as the way he finished the 2019 recruiting class even with a losing record, and the class he is currently putting together. And rectifying his coordinator mistakes quickly with very good hires. The progress the team appears to be making across the board and building those relationships back up so the team wants to follow his lead. I think those are the reasons people are getting excited and claim he's a real football coach. The video of him working one on one with a couple newcomers was just a good visual aid to trigger the excitement.

Chemists are magicians. If they can take a coca leaf and turn it into a potent coca powder, or a poppy flower into opium/morphine/heroin, then it doesn't seem a stretch to be able to remove the coca from the leaf. But yes, I am sure there were still residual amounts in the soft drink for a time.

You kept responding too. haha. I saw it. And laughed. It's a nice story. You pointing out that the other poster's take was a bit hyperbolic is fine. Most don't have a problem with any of that. It was the 10 pages about how Pruitt is gonna take the bama job that is annoying and unnecessary.
