Well, it's a matter of perspective. In the grand scheme of 100+ years of college basketball, 13 years is still pretty recent. My point was that Florida isn't known as a traditional basketball power outside of those two titles the same as San Francisco isn't considered a basketball power despite their two titles from the 50s. Florida's are just more recent.when 13 years ago is "recent" we have issues.
Basketball is more important than football at Arkansas? Doubt that.
Can't say I blame Razorback fans for being apathetic about football. Haven't had much to cheer about since Petrino. It might have been in the 90's. There are even some who would rather go to a super regional baseball game than a football game these days, but it's all relative to the success of the sport. Arkansas supports all three pretty well but can be fairweather like all schools I guess. There is definitely apathy about football right now.

I'll still stand by my earlier comment that we are a better program than Florida in hoops, all time.
While in football the overall history of Tennessee is more than enough to outweigh Florida’s recent success, the same is not true in basketball.
5 Final Fours, 2 national titles, and the #5 NCAA tournament winning percentage all-time is enough to surpass whatever it is Tennessee wants to hang its hat on in men’s basketball.
How about Florida's first NCAAT appearance came barely over 30 years ago? History began long before that.
What about Tennessee's much better overall record in conference and all-time records. Tennessee has more SEC titles than Florida. IIRC, Tennessee has the third best overall conference record all time (behind only Kentucky and Alabama). Florida is below 500 all time in conference games. Tennessee has a winning or 500 record against every SEC team all-time except for Kentucky and Alabama. 99gator, I would argue that LSU and Alabama have better overall program histories than Florida in hoops. Just go away, troll. That’s not enough, IMO.
Same as the Florida football head to head record isn’t enough to rank Florida ahead of Tennessee as a football program
Not the same at all. Apples to Oranges. In football, during the first 60 plus years of the 20th century (When UT was arguably one of the three (3) most dominant teams in the SEC along side Alabama and Georgia Tech), Tennessee and Florida met almost never (12 times with UT holding an 11-1 edge). Compare to basketball where the two (2) schools have been playing an average of about 1.2 times a year since Florida first fielded a team in the early 1920's. In Football, the two teams didn't start playing every year until 1990. Had the two teams played every year from the beginning like, say Florida and Georgia, Florida would probably have a losing all-time record against UT.That’s not enough, IMO.

Florida’s basketball success is probably under-appreciated because everything about them is generally unlikable.Ok, let’s take Tennessee out of the equation.
You mentioned Alabama. Do you really believe Alabama’s overall body of work is so strong that Florida’s run of success doesn’t surpass that?
Everyone not named Kentucky or Arkansas (most of it in the SWC) have mediocre at best basketball histories. I’m not comparing Florida to Kansas for crying out loud.
We’re talking about Tennessee and Alabama here. Two schools whose basketball achievements are not the stuff of legend.
Cute, you don't want to talk about Tennessee anymore because you are beginning to see the weaknesses in your argument there, so you choose to compare Florida to Alabama. Before you start puffing up your chest about Florida's two NCAA titles, you would do well just take a little time looking at the all-time records of other schools besides Florida in basketball. Alabama is the second winningest program in the SEC all time. They have 8 conference titles (one more than Florida), 6 tournament titles (two more than Florida). And I will wager they lead the all-time series with Florida in hoops. Did it ever occur you that part of the reason the rest of the SEC has low numbers in hoops is because of the dominance of one team: Kentucky. I wonder what Arkansas hoops history would be like if they had played in the SEC from the beginning?Ok, let’s take Tennessee out of the equation.
