I'm sure he'd love to give them even less access and preferably none. Hard to blame him. And he feeds them what he wants to see. Can't really blame him for that, either.
I do enjoy the tidbits we fans get through the media, but if Pruitt wants to limit/closed practice then the media has no reason to complain. They forget it's a privilege for them to view the small amount they do get to view

That's fine, I'll read Ron's cheerleader guy. Less annoying than Simonton watching 25 throws and writing "Guarantano threw a pass high and wide".

Really Jesse? He throw only one pass in that 20 mins he was in front of you?

I've never understood why so many of the local media and columnists love to dump on UT. Some of them seem downright gleeful about the program's slide. Adams and Simonton would look for poop in a field full of thoroughbreds.
Adams should retire and I'm pretty sure Simonton is a gator

Adams has been that way from day 1. He would find something to complain about on an sunny, 83° day, on the beach in Hawaii...

Simonton is way better than Adams but he certainly does like to needle the fanbase at times.

Clicks. Plus, guys like Adams and Hyams are old and bitter. Even Hubbs is approaching that level to some degree. They've been around the program for so long and are completely jaded now. Combine all of that with the fact that almost everyone grows to dislike their job and they've likely been shat on by UT admins/coaches/players a few times in their careers and there you go. To them it's more interesting when UT is bad and they can write articles reveling in the program's terribleness. Hubbs also likely gets a boost in subscribers when there's a coaching search.

Yep. Forget Butch, but the '15 and '16 teams were filled with NFL talent. Reading some of our media, you would have thought it was Greenback Community College.

Good. I made the mistake of listening to the Sports Animal at lunch, and Heather just would not shut up about the media's limited access. She made it sound like the fans were being punished by CJP not allowing much media.
College football coaches are a bunch of dorks about this. It’s football practice, not nuclear holocaust prep.

I just don't get the constant digs at the program. They don't have to like or support the program to be more balanced in their reporting. It would actually be self-serving, since it would probably net them a larger following and more access. And yes, Adams should retire-- several years ago. He's so sour he's practically pickled by now.

I think it's a little power move they pull. Coaches probably hate having to talk to the media, so anytime they can shut them out, they'll do it.

Simonton can come off ass a blowhard sometimes, but I think his takes are fine. He is obviously more of a “wait and see” type of guy, and sometimes a contrarian just for the sake of it, but that balances out AP’s homerisms. Rob has some pretty good points whenever he can get the words out. Hubbs is my guy though. Love that beautifully chinless man!

I’m not sure it’s an anti-media thing so much as it started around the time the NCAA seriously limited practice time and what schools can do in practice. All teams skirt that line and they don’t want eyes around when they go over, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

I think there’s time and place. NFL teams have basically open training camp. I get on game weeks it should be full lock down. But there’s honestly no need to try and be Area 51 in fall camp or the spring.

I commented about this the other day. Ainge said something like for the first time since fulmer that we actually “look the part”. That whole take is just stupid

I think if a bunch of half-a-meatball media members were constantly hanging around your work you’d want to boot them out completely from time to time. I have no problem with it. A little Clonidine will get me through.
