Saw where Breece Hall and Zonavon Knight were in 247 Freshman preseason all American list based on fall camp info. Hall starting at Iowa St and apparently Knight is being labeled as Arguably one of best players on team period. More examples of not so highly ranked players Pruitt offered early in their recruitments that end up likely better than ranking

1997 defense was not as good as 1998 defense. Peyton with 1998 defense wins championship going away. 98 defense was just elite. Teams win championships, not one individual

That still doesn’t justify the fact he lost to Memphis,never beat Florida and didint win a natty.the defense may have not been “elite” from your perspective but it was essentially the same defense And definitely good enough to defend a lead.the 97’ defense still wasn’t easy to score against.they were also (11-2) (7-1) in sec play.No excuses.i am In no way shape or form saying he should have won it by himself because that’s impossible I’m just stating legit points for discussion is all. still a huge Vol/Peyton fan but I’m just sayin.

C’mon man CP84 under appreciated? Watched him live against NC State and thought he was a Heisman level talent. We didn’t use him right though.

I still take exception to the “we didn’t use CP right” line of thinking. We used him every way imaginable. He scored TDs four different ways and set the program record in all purpose yards in a single season.

Of course if you mean he also should have played defense than maybe I agree! ;-)

Dobbs was a great athlete playing QB. Could not throw the football with any consistency.

I just can’t see 6-6 or 5-7. Last year’s team would have won 6 games we have on the slate this time around. IMO if you’re saying 6-6 or less you don’t think this team will have made any progress.

Auburn could be in for a tough year. Starting with Oregon, LSU road, A&M road, Florida road. Plus Georgia and Bama.

This has been a well debated topic regarding CP.

To move this discussion to a more generic topic, I try to look at what makes a football player special due to what they bring to the team. I dont think WRs should be limited to how many TDs passes they catch. If a player is producing at the position and causing a team to gameplan around them, they are effective at their position.

TD’s weren’t an issue but no team he’s ever graced has been able to build a gameplan FOR him. The fact that the Patriots (who have never been accused of wasting talent) needed to hand him the ball in the backfield to take advantage of his gifts, highlights his deficiencies as a route runner. He’s LIMITED as a WIDE RECEIVER because of that not so minor detail.
