Just lost my grandma. Kinda relieved for her as the past couple weeks have been really rough. Glad we were able to convince her to come out here a couple years ago so we could spend a lot of time together and be there with her in the end. I'm gonna miss taking her to the grocery store every weekend and her sharp wit and unconditional love.

I’m still more concerned about DL play but Chaney’s recent disappointment in the OL does raise red flags. Was it a calculated outburst in front of the media a few days ago, or in the moment did he just reach his tolerance with their lack of performance? Not a good look for Friend either way.
No clue about Friend but I'm not shocked that Chaney isn't pleased with last year's worst OL in the country.
Those guys need every bit of attention they can get from anyone available. But I cannot defend or attack WF without knowing Chaney's thoughts. Not worried about it how it looks, only the reality. We often phrase it like our opinion or optics means something but it just doesn't.

Besides, I think he only mentioned "NFL" anything with about 4 players out of 85. Last I checked, not only would that not be crazy, I'm hopeful we have way more than that.
I’ll be honest...lot of “great” in there. He attempted to temper somewhat with the freshmen OT’s but I’m reading D4H level All-Pro roster with this review.

No doubt.
I just took it as his excitement compared to what he's used to seeing for the last 2 years. Ron said he concluded with a more modest 7-8 win team, which honestly, would look pretty great to me too, at least in comparison.

You don’t get what I’m talking about? He had 37 receptions for 482 yards in 2017. 17 of those receptions and 280 of those yards came in 3 games against Indians State, UMASS, and Vandy (where we played from behind the entire game). Looking back, I do think he had a big catch late against USCe that kept a drive alive. But then he couldn’t reel in a pass in the end zone that hit him in the hands.

Hopefully he is bigger and more ready to contribute this year. We need to make sure we have quality depth that can give Callaway, Jennings, and Palmer opportunities to rest, especially against OOC cupcakes.

You saying that he padded his stats on cupcakes but how come no other wr produced on them games..Its still football so it dont matter..Alabama, UGA, UF game no wr put up big numbers those games..That year Brandon wasnt on the field every snap how Callaway and Palmer was..Brandon came in on Passing situations..Brandon not the only wr to drop a td here at Tennessee..Also I know why Brandon didnt play last year and it wasnt because of performance on the field..

I'm sorry, Sleegro. Although it's a relief to know they're not suffering, it sure does hurt.

Sorry man. Had lost both set of grandparents ages ago but my Aunt Geneda and Uncle Herbert had filled that void. Were in their late 70’s and going strong in retirement. Best friends with Mennonites and always doing projects. Left a Cracker Barrel in Crossville en route to pick up some apples to make apple butter, and got slammed into by a truck. Heartbreaking watching them recover and they never could fully. Lost my uncle 4 years ago and Geneda this past week...she wanted to be with him the second he left. I can’t live up to that generation. Prayers Sleegro.

Generally agree with your opinion/optics point...but what else do we bring on here?

Or maybe we're going to be pretty good and the past doesn't matter? Maybe we're not cursed? Maybe we have some ballers who are making NFL level plays? Maybe things are looking up and it's okay to get excited again?
Maybe we're not allowed to think like this because we might get hurt and not be able to take it.

He also said it's a 7-8 win team, not 15-0. I think the excitement comes from how practice was ran, how well our coaches coach (vs previous few guys) and how talented the young guys are...future is bright.
Process over results. Although, I am super excited to watch this team, and I think they’re gonna surprise some folks.

Really hate to hear this also, butchna. Thoughts are with you my friend.

Sorry about that. Grand parents are so special it's hard when you lose one. Mine are all gone. Never met my grandad on my mom's side, he died when my mom was in highschool. My grandmother on my mom's side died when I was around 10 years old so I don't remember very much about her. My grandmother on my dad's side died young as well when I was only about 5-6 years old so very few memories of her. But my dad's dad lives to be 91 and died when I was in my late 30's so I had a special relationship with him. I miss him dearly. Sorry for your loss.

If this team goes 5-7 with another loss to Vanderbilt. Y’all are going to want Pruitt out and at this point staring over is the worst thing that could happen to this program.

Sorry, Butchna. Prayers for you, too.

Man that is rough. Sorry to hear that.

If we continue that process while continuing to bring in talent, the results will happen. That's the way it works. That process has not been here thus the results of 4-8 and 5-7 seasons.

Only stupid people that rely on emotions are going to want him out before he has 4 years of recruits.

Yeah she was my last one. She's my dad's biological mother. Never knew the father or his adopted parents. My mom's mother died when I was 3 so only vague memories and her dad died about 20 years ago. Luckily I got some time with him too.

Was thinking about how this class will finish

We lead for -
Hardy - per everyone
Baron - per everyone
Len'Neth - per 247 CB, USCe/UT battle, OV on 8/31 think he commites shortly after
Bryson Eason - per VQ, would have committed if he could have come to BBQ
Mordecai - Per 247
Darnell Washington - Per AV and visits

That would put us at 255 points on 247

Top 2 or 3 for - Think we get Rakim, Smalls, OO, Antonio Johnson, and Omari
Rakim -
Savion Smalls -
Octavious Oxendine -
Omari Thomas -
Antontio Johnson - Hemholdt says we lead, Farrell say we don't
Reggie Grimes - USCe/UT battle
Noah Sewell - Oregon/UGA
Chris Morris - AM
Rybka - UK

That class of 25 would put us at 287 points on 247. With (3) 5 stars, (16) 4 stars - Spraggins, Lovie ( basically any Priott CB is a 4 star - DeAndre Baker at UGA, Warren Burrell, Bryce Thomson, the walk on at Bama that started for them) and Mordecai getting bumped up and (6) 3 stars.

287 points would give is the 3rd best class last year, 6th in 2018, and 7th in 2017.

I'm sure other names will pop up but interesting none the less.
If we win and show improvement. 6-6 all bets are off on signing a good class
