i think of the "big 3", FL is probably the one that would be considered the best chances to win.

and while they are having issues....their front 7 will still be good. they have NFL talent on the DL and at LB. so while i wouldn't say this UF D is as we've seen over the past 4-5 years, it will still be big test for our unproven offense.

if we can handle the front 7, then you do have to like the match ups outside with our TE's and WR's and backs out of the back field against their back 4 or 5.

defensively, they are breaking in basically a brand new O line. and we're breaking in basically a brand new front 7. which of those groups gets there faster?

i think that game is more interesting than it was a month ago. i'm not ready to call for an upset yet. certainly on the table.

I'm not calling for an upset by any means. I want to see how both teams play up until then. But, you can't disregard the stuff that is happening down there. Definitely a culture issue which we know too much about. Finally they are experiencing it and we aren't.

Eric Gray reminds me a lot of Alvin K when it comes to his speed and elusiveness. Kid will be a game changer IMO for our offense. Every time he gets the ball you get the sense he could do something special. I think JT is our best option at back up qb based on what I have seen but I certainly don’t believe we want to see either him or Maurer in a game situation. There is definitive size difference on the O line with the addition of Wanya and DW...I believe our qb will actually have time to throw the ball this season which is exciting considering what we have had to watch the last few years. JG looks decent with his accuracy but I think Chaney will finally take advantage of his speed and elusiveness and let him run this year which he could be lethal with.
All that said we clearly are going to have some depth issues on both lines this year...We need another good recruiting cycle to truly be able to address the depth concerns on the lines of scrimmage.
The future is bright...the size difference in this years team compared to last is noticeable especially when standing next to them.
I see somewhere between a 7 and 9 win team here and I see the building blocks truly in place for a great future.

Well that...is certainly nice to hear. We've needed someone out of the backfield who can make things happen without a completely clear running lane, and if JG is able to utilize his legs a bit as well, all the better. The biggest question will be (in my opinion) whether our d-line can stop opposing rushing attacks to allow our back 7 to feast on third and mediums to third and longs. If the defense can do that, I think our offense can be improved enough to get into the higher end of your win estimate.

well, last year they had the suspensions and the CC fraud distraction etc.....and i remember that being a "thing" regarding our chances last year.

off season distractions are a problem for any program. injuries definitely have an impact.

and like i said, i think that game is more interesting than it was a month ago.....

but FL's culture has been the way it is for a long time, and it hasn't generally changed much in the results of our game with them.

but i'm always willing to start a new trend................... :)

Looks like Tate Martell didn't win the starting job at Miami. A freshman did.

lmao I also read somewhere that Fields is in a battle with the transfer from Kentucky. Said that there is no separation between the two. So its possible that both these slap nuts get beat out for the starting job. lol

We gotta fight. For our right.

Then again it's really hard to give up any W's with preseason happening now. Excitement is escalating. Hopefully I can make it to a game this year.
