I too base my predictions for the season mostly on a glorified practice.

My predictions are based on what I saw last season and the Orange and White Game did little to change it. Vols struggled on both lines of scrimmage. SEC is a line of scrimmage league. If you can’t consistently block or tackle your opponent then you usually won’t win.

I saw very little in that game to get excited about. Youth and inexperience on both lines with some talent but not enough.

I’m not sure the defense can pressure the passer enough or consistently stop the run.

The offense will need to score 30 or more in every SEC game to give them a chance to win and I’m not sure that’s possible with JG at QB.

As always turnovers can be the difference in winning or losing. Vols will need to be plus 2 every game to have a chance and that’s something they couldn’t consistently do last season either.

If they win 6 games and beat Vanderbilt this will be a successful season, especially, if they can win a bowl game.

Oh yeah, at least the Spring Game is a real scrimmage in full pads.

All we have seen so far this fall is players doing drills for a very limited part of practice. It’s hard to get excited about that.

You do know that the o-line/d-line has added about five 300 pounders since the O&W game right? Nevermind

I just don’t see the Vols beating Mizzou, Miss State, or SC. Beating BYU, UAB, Kentucky and Vanderbilt won’t be easy for this team.
Shouldn't we wait until after the FL game before we let our negative emotions take charge? You're starting way too early.
