While I thought the quote was kinda silly, (missed the boat a bit) this author (who is Caleb Calhoun?) gave some equally silly arguments. He is talking about 2018(?) when in 2019 (the current year iirc) a "bulk" of the projected starters are still from the Jones era. I'd estimate anywhere from 14-16 of the 22.
The quote was about recruiting and he immediately concedes, "Nobody criticized Jones’s recruiting for Tennessee football" ...wut? I gather his whole article was from implying a ton from so little, rather than just arguing what was actually said.
He should have just had a 1 paragraph article, stating he DID bring in talented kids, Vols that are starting right now for us. They were not developed properly and now they are being developed properly. End of story. No need to denigrate the kids in any way, acting like these veteran guys were never talented to begin with. That is just sad, Mr Calhoun.
