Against Auburn, well yes he did....Foster averaged 3.75 & Hardesty only averaged 3.5. Hardesty had a long of 17 (Foster had a long of 10) and a really great stat.....a touchdown! Not great numbers for either back I'm afraid.

Against our other SEC foe, Foster averaged 2.6 yards while Hardesty averaged 3.0 however. Also, Foster had 14 touches versus Hardesty's 5. Again, not great numbers for either back. Incidently, both backs had a long of 9 yards.

Hardesty runs harder, and has proved himself ready to be the starter...plain and simple. He doesn't make jokes after a sub par performance for the 5th week in a row by the offense of which you're supposed to be a senior leader. I'm suprised Foster didn't fumble the punch line.

If this offense has trouble with leadership, Fulmer should jump off a bridge. Almost every guy getting minutes on offense has been at UT four or five years. Gerald Jones is about the only young guy getting significant minutes.

The guy is struggling and yet he acts like a dinosaur. I am quickly losing respect for him, and I have always liked the guy.

Personally, I think it's very funny and I have garnered a new respect, if you could call it that, for Foster.

He is taking a swipe at the overly serious sports media, and he is showing that he can still have fun in an otherwise difficult year for the team and him personally.

Fact remains at the present time, they both suck. but nice stats for a 2-3 team huh? Foster reminds me of Tony Dorsett,where it seemed 1 out of 8 carries resulted in a fumble. But I guess we could blame the fumbles on Phil to huh.

The whole Foster's chance at a career rushing record at UT is more of a reflection of just how much UT has lost in talent at TB (or in it's ability to recognize it) during his years on the Hill. Foster no more deserves to be the career rushing leader at UT than Fulmer deserves to have the most career wins.

Coker should have been the starter when we had him and Hardesty thereafter.

I don't know what to think about his antics. Some people just aren't meant to lead. Foster may be one of those. Everyone knew the team would need some leadership and everone had players that they thought would carry the torch by how they played. Right now there are a couple of So's that are doing that but that's about all. Overall I'm really discouraged with the O-line. Usually you can find at least one man child out of all those beasts that will step up and lead a team but we seem to have a bunch of overgrown kids. Come on you're 6-5 300 lbs with a 600 lb bench and a 500lb squat. It's not that hard to get people's attention.

Riggs' injury and Coker's dismissal has given foster the oppurtunity to get more carries he would not get otherwise. Hardesty has also been hit the injury bug. That is why he will be the all time leading vol rusher.

It's gonna be great watchin the next NFL draft. Arian Foster will get drafted by a team like Kansas City then they'll talk up the negatives. Then someone will say, ''Yeah but Fostermom said....

You probably do a good job at whatever it is you do. Let your performance slip to below your co-workers and you'll be suprised how much of what you say starts to get evaluated.

YPC is an average and the more carries you get the more realistic your YPC number becomes. Therefore, stating he has more carries further shows that his YPC is an accurate indicator rather than a number skewed by one or two long runs.

You mean sort of like how in 1998 Jamal Lewis got hurt and Travis Henry got a ton of carries he wouldn't have gotten otherwise?

You got it. They were clearly not the best rb's on the team.
If you want to include henry, he made the most of his situation unlike foster.

My recollection of Travis Henry is of a back who ran much better than does AF. Yet, Jamal was a beast beyond comparison to either.
