It definitely looked like a slam to me. Of course, I don't have the inside info on the two that you apparently have. On another note, I hate the word 'salty' when applied to individuals or their attitudes.

usually, w/out context, most things look a certain way, depending on the view of the person looking at it.

in the proper context, as i've tried to do here, this falls in the "not a big deal" category.

the title of the link is designed to steer the reader to a decision, w/out regard for what the reality is.

GA fans will react and defend TD and TN fans will react and defend QC and slam TD and UGA.

predictable as a ticking clock.

The context needed is that Davis has served as a mentor to Crouch. It was nothing more than a friendly ribbing. I doubt that Davis cares very much about Crouch's decision to go to Tennessee.

i think he would have loved to see him go to GA, selfishly, but as a player, i'm sure he's really happy for Crouch and the opportunities that are going to lie ahead for him, at TN and in the NFL.
