I am very sad to report that the damage to my cousin's brain is too severe for him to wake up. We could keep him alive indefinitely if we give him a permanent breathing tube and feeding tube but have decided him to make him comfortable and to let nature take its course. My family is very appreciative of the thoughts, prayers and well wishes that we have received from all of you. Thank you.

May God’s Grace show up in abundance at just the right time!

I'm feeling overly optimistic about this year's team, but there are a lot of moving parts to SC'S success during that period besides Fitz. I think spurrier may have played a part...

Undoubtedly...but firing Lawson was Lyle's undoing. S&C isn't just S&C...the conditioning staff sets the overall tone for much of the year.

Not even a full year on campus, slipped on one rep in a 2minute video on day 1, tired in the heat on day 2 and he gone? lol

The truth is JJP might be a bust, he might be a nice contributor, he might end up ALL American. No one knows. But everyone wants to make a prediction and be right. And it's easy to say he sucks and will be a bust. "I said it way back when!", "TOLD YOU GUYS, I'M A GENIUS!".

The sad part is we're grown ass men on here and he's a kid. Oh and he's also a member of our favorite football team. So I'm a big fan of letting it play out a little longer and see how he responds to coaching and development before I trash a kid on the team. Especially a kid that's not even been on campus a year. But that's just me. Others prefer to sit on the couch and trash a kid that's working hard in fall camp.

So sorry to hear, prayers for peace and comfort for you and your family.

And then it DIPPED and Spurrier quits in the middle of a season...losing Fitz may have played a part.

And I thought I loved you before.... He's wearing orange. He has 4 years to get it right! If he doesn't you can talk about how much he sucks or what a bust he is. At the moment you suck as a fan.

You mentioned one...Vickers. Owen Williams before that...all 270 lb massiveness of him.

Man, Owen Williams. Even at 270 could be disruptive. Can you imagine him in this program?

I know it’s old news, but I feel bad for all of these young guys from the past few years who came here expecting to win, be successful, and develop as football players.

If that dude ever becomes a head coach again, it will be too soon.

A few years ago I was in a meeting with my project team and we were interviewing potential bidders on a major contract we were preparing to bid out. After one particular meeting with the representatives of a prospective minority bidder a couple of the senior guys with the client I was working for at the time made some clearly racist remarks. Now this was the 8th project I had done for this client corporation so I had considerably more time in the organization than these other guys.

There were only 4 of us left in the conference room when the remarks were made, the two guys involved, a guy from contracts, and myself. I called them out on their remarks as not being representative of the corporate culture I had long been familiar with. One of those guys asked me what I was trying to say. I didn’t say anything more; I just looked at both of them. Either one of those guys had it within their power to have me discharged although I was well connected in the company and they knew that. The contracts guy had enjoyed a good laugh at their remarks for which he apologized to me later that day. I never witnessed any similar behavior or talk from either of those guys after that.

When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.

I can't do much to influence supposedly mature men and women not to trash talk about mostly the 18 and 19 year old kids at our university but as a lifelong fan of our football team and being more a fan/supporter of the players than of the coaches, I still don't think that kind of talk and behavior is right. jmo.

Yea I loved Owen Williams. He was 297 that year and not the 270 the op said.
