2016 is the most recent roster I used for comparison.


DL size-I used the edge rushers in this for the 2019 data.

2016- ave weight 281 pounds
2019- ave weight is 280 pounds.



Interior DL:
2016- ave weight 294
2019-ave weight 298


LB- I didn’t include the edge Rushers for the 2019 average
2016- 230 lbs on average
2019- 234 lbs on average


OL- massive difference here:
2016- 297 lbs on average
2019- 309 on average


I used utsports to get the weights.


So are we bigger??? Hell year we are. Huge difference on the OL, no difference overall on the entire DL, and some modest gains with our size on the interior of the DL and at LB.

Really thought Trey would be taking full reps and readying to go by now. Hopefully just executing the same plan as last year and taking him off his meds only once it's absolutely necessary to prep for game week. Might even delay it a week later with the soft opener. Trey don't need warmups.

I’ve been to a few practices and I can tell you what these media nerds see isn’t worth reading their accounts of. It’s literally like watching the team warmup before a game. Worthless

Previous records before Fitz:
2006: 8-5 (win over Houston in bowl)
2007: 6-6 (lost final 5 games, no bowl)
2008: 7-6 (lost final three games, blown out by Iowa in Bowl)

Year 1 - 2009 - 8-6 with a loss to UCONN in the PapaJohns.com Bowl
Year 2 - 2010 - 9-5 with SECC appearance and loss to Florida State in Peach Bowl
  • 9-3 regular season record
  • Beat Georgia, ALABAMA, Tennessee, Clemson and Florida
  • Lost at Auburn (future national champs) during regular season by a TD
  • Lost to a really good Arkansas team at home
  • Blew 18 pt halftime lead at Kentucky
  • Probably should have gone 10-2 in regular season
  • Lost to FSU in Bowl game after Lattimore got hurt 1st quarter
  • Best record overall since 2001
  • Only SECC appearance in school history - got smoked by Auburn (future NC)
Year 3 - 2011 - 11-2 (beat Nebraska in bowl, best record in school history)
  • Beat Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Clemson and Nebraska
  • Close loss to Auburn (defending NC) and at a really good Arkansas team
  • Beat UGA in Athens but Bulldogs went to SECC after going 7-1 in conference (USC was 6-2)
After Fitz left for Texans, the Gamecocks had two more 11 win seasons in 2012 (nearly lost to Sunseri D’d VOLS) and 2013 (lost to Butch Jones LOL) but then have obviously fallen way off since then...

Will the Fitz factor kick in this year for the VOLS????
