It's hard to think of the best show I've ever been to. I recently read a book about Cornell 5/8/77, which for those who don't know is a Dead show that has taken on mythological status over time. I've seen a lot of performers who are no longer with us and it's neat in a way to be part of a 'club' that nobody else gets to join, but I cannot recall any of those shows that really stuck out to me. Maybe Col. Bruce at the Cannery a few years back because he died so suddenly afterwards despite seeming as crazy and full of life as ever on stage. Probably, the one show I was most grateful to see was the Police in Miami when they had their reunion tour because I loved them as a kid but was just a bit too young to see them live in the 70s or early 80s. If I've ever attended a show that will have a place in musical history, it is probably either the Black Crowes performance at the Great Atlanta Pot Festival circa 1993 IIRC or the night that Bob Weir played the second set with Phish at Ascend in Nashville. With the Crowes it was more for the size of the crowd at Piedmont Park and the fact that it was a pro-pot rally of sorts than the music. With Phish/Weir it was more about the collaboration (not the only time it's happened) and the fact that they played some Dead tunes that Phish never played live before and probably will never play live again (again being in that 'club' that nobody else can join). I never saw RATM but one of the scariest shows I ever saw was Ministry at Lollapalooza Lakewood in Atlanta, the crowd was nuts with people starting huge bonfires with garbage, blankets, lawn chairs, and whatever else they could grab and then huge swirling mosh pits surrounding the fires and sending up massive clouds of dust that were backlit by the setting sun. I love live music and, hopefully, every show I get to see from here on out will have some moment where it's the best show ever. That's why we go.

Aerosmith was a good show, at least back in the day. I saw them in '73 and again in '75.
Rush was always a good show in the '70s.
I saw Cream and Hendrix, both in '68 when I was 16.
Zeppelin in '70 and '72.
Floyd 3 times, twice in the '70s, and then again in the early '90s.
Saw the Stones multiple times in the '70s.
Genesis with Phil Collins in '73.
Wishbone Ash in '73.
Sabbath in '71.
Jethro Tull 4 times in the '70s. Always an entertaining show when those guys played.
And countless others during the late '60s up until the very early '80s. James Brown in '67 was awesome.

Those were the days of so-called Arena Rock, when there was a really good concert seemingly every other night. Lots of times there was not a lot of advertising the groups. I heard a radio ad for the Genesis concert about 6pm one evening and it said the show started at 7pm. We took off to the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis and got there just before showtime and sat on the 8th row. There was literally no one there and I thought this is going to suck. These guys will be pissed and either won't play or won't have any energy, but it was an amazing show.
How did you not see Steppenwolf or the Beatles. I saw the Beatles, Stones, and Zeplin when I was stationed in England and saw most of them again in Memphis in the 70's. I was in England during Woodstock but I would have been right in the middle of it if I had been in the states. I saw Tom Jones in England and women were takin' off their panties and throwin' them on stage :cool::cool:.

I, along with most likely everyone else, will be watching the OL and how the LB's go. I hope Friend is able to establish a starting 5 within the first 1-2 weeks. That would give them the remainder of camp to get used to each other. LB's because I want to see Toot and Crouch pop some heads off.

I'm pretty sure they have a real good idea of who the starters are right now on the OL

Unrelated I know but Im bored & need yall's opinion - I interviewed for a new job 12 days ago and havent heard back from anyone and have sent out your typical Thank You email to both the hiring manager & HR rep. Time to move on?

I'd call the hiring manager and touch base.

It's best to have a variety. In my vinyl collection I have big band albums to three six mafia to suicidal tendencies.

I have all my dad's vintage Beatles and Stones and Dylan to MMJ, White Stripes, Iron and Wine, etc. Love my vinyl. I have a portable player suitcase and my Denon hooked up to the main system. Glorious sound.
