Athlon Sports game by game predictions for Tennessee

Like it “usually” does? I’ll give you 3 close games in the last 5 years, outside of that you have to go back to 2006 for a game that “went down to the wire.” I wouldn’t call three close games in the last 14 years “usually.” And I include UT’s 2016 win as a game that wasn’t really all that close at the end.
Would you mind saving your jackassery for Gator boards?

Consensus 7-5.

I’ll take 8-4 and say we win the Carolina game. Should have last year IMO, know it doesn’t have anything to do with this year. 7-5 is improvement on last year and I’m okay with that too but think we get to 8-4. I’m still thinking we don’t see that surge everybody talks about until next season, absolutely hope I’m wrong though and it comes this season.

I think this is about right. A step in the right direction. Make a bowl. Recruit. Build this thing to last.

There is no reason this team can't go 7-1 at home and 1-3 on the road.

I see threads about the impact of Neyland Stadium, well it boils down to winning. Beating: GA St., BYU, UTC, USC, Miss St., UAB, and Vandy should be the expectation if UT is finally getting better.

I agree with this except we’ve got a good shot to take S.C. It’s disheartening not to be able to say that about Mizzo.

Overlooking UK. They lost Bennie, but they don't suck.
They lost the best defensive player they've ever had. They lost their entire secondary, they have a bad QB, they have no depth. They might win 6 games this year and we beat them by 21+.
