Great series/character. Reacher is blond, 6'5", 250lbs while Cruise is a 5'7", 150lbs with dark hair.

Child said:

“I based Reacher on a physical type of person which is huge and ugly,” Child said. “There was an English rugby player called Lawrence Dallaglio.

“Think of him in his peak. He was a big guy.

“There is a very iconic picture of him – a photo of him – and he’s got the ball in one hand, he’s got these giant hands. He is exactly the sort of guy you would not mess with. Because he’s big and he’s also rather brutal-looking, not that I would ever say that to his face.”

Looks just like Cruise if you ask me....

The Jack Reacher novels sort of remind me of the old Travis McGee series by John McDonald. He wrote about 20 or so TM stories from the mid-60s through the early 80s. My dad would read them and then give them to me to read when I was a teenager and I kept reading them through adulthood. McGee was also described as a big dude, but rangy. Sam Eliot played TM in the one movie they did, and he was fairly close to how I pictured TM, although TM if I remember, was probably a little taller than Eliot. McGee was also ex-military like Reacher. He was a 'salvage consultant', meaning if someone took something of value from you, TM would recover it for you for halfsies. And he lived on a houseboat in a marina in S.Fla. that he had won i a poker game. Mcgee was a cool dude.

Not really. I was just kidding. I don't even have many that read romance unless it is Christian. Romantic Suspense is what is popular now. As far as recommendations, The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is wonderful. It was in top 20 bestseller list for about 2 years. Setting is France during WWII with two sisters trying to survive. Think someone else recommended Beneath a Scarlet Sky. I can't keep it in long enough to read it. One that's really popular that you might not have heard of is Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine. Setting is Tennessee! Would love some recommendations!
I listen to audiobooks daily - I'm going to look for Stillhouse Lake and The Killing Floor. I've listened to & liked Nightingale, WWII settings are some of my favorite & Beneath a Scarlet Sky was very good. Some favorites of mine are
~ The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
~ The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell by Robert Dugoni
~ Rules of Civility by Amor Towles

“A lot of people say I’ve got the best coaching staff in the country,” Jeremy Pruitt said. “Most of the people that say it, haven’t been a part of the staffs that I’ve been a part of which has been some really good ones over the years. I truly believe with them on our staff and I've told you this morning, when you talk about teaching, recruiting, relationships, character, all the intangibles that comes with being a football coach, I truly believe that we do have the best staff in the country.”
