Athlon Sports game by game predictions for Tennessee

Boy, you talk about going along with the crowd, not one has a set of................among them. Let's just go with what Tennessee did last year and pick the winners............geesh, get paid for that kind of thinking? Had I known that sports writers did have to play any sports, have strong uninformed opinions and using data from the previous year.............I would have chosen a different path.

Except for those pesky CORRECTION Commodores and our best non conference opponent. Other than those games yes they picked similar to last year.

I was thinking they picked us to lose to MSU and beat USC but it’s the other way around.

If we can get some young guys contributing early and depending on our oline, I want to say 9 wins. A lot has to happen positive but I don’t see it being an insurmountable hill of a schedule.......and I’m normally pessimistic every year

The SCarolina game is in Knoxville and SC should have at least 4 losses coming into the game and they will be coming off back to back weeks of @UGA and Florida. I feel better about this game than I do the Miss St game and at UK. All 3 are winnable but the SC game should present a better chance to get a needed win.

Trust me when I say that you dont need to worry one bit about BYU, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, South Carolina, Missouri, Mississippi State. A couple of these games will be closer, but we will beat most of them by 21+. BYU ain't got a shot. Coming into Neyland, BYU is gonna have to show me. We almost always play Georgia close besides Jones last year. It's going to be a BATTLE in the swamp this year, I see that game going down to the wire like it usually does. The only game right now that looks really tough is of course Alabama because it's at Bryant Denny.

I am excited and this year, I think we will start to see the improvement that we all want to see. Everybody is 0-0 right now, looking forward to the season kickoff. GBO!!!!!!

I think South Carolina is a winnable game but I’m not putting it in a W column yet. Missouri is a possibility too.

Other than that I can agree with these predictions. Would love to see us beat the Gators in the swamp though

Like it “usually” does? I’ll give you 3 close games in the last 5 years, outside of that you have to go back to 2006 for a game that “went down to the wire.” I wouldn’t call three close games in the last 14 years “usually.” And I include UT’s 2016 win as a game that wasn’t really all that close at the end.
