Braves just choked away a 4-1 lead going into 8th thanks to a crappy pen. Now to extra innings. If they had an elite closer, the game is probably over. And they still haven’t made a move for a proven closer and won’t. They are stupid. They have the offense and almost enough starting pitching to contend, but fall way short with relief pitching. Have made 1 move.

Will hold out to see what we gave up. But Like Greene a lot and yesterday's trade was a steal for us because Allard had been a bust. Any idea on controllable years remaining?

2 years for Greene and Melancon. So far the only name attached to the deal is Alex Jackson

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Braves fans but Melancon is not a savior. He blew so many saves for the Giants that he got demoted to middle relief. He is a contact pitcher and as a closer he will give up hits. He has pitched better lately and when he is on will probably help. But he has a huge contract and is not the same dude the Nationals had. He is a likeable dude and wish you all success, but I am so happy he is off the Giants. #wetblanket

Backup catcher too. And your buddy is making us not desperate to land an outfielder.

We don’t need him to be the Savior. He gonna be our 7th inning guy. He isn’t the closer.

Got Greene so he shouldn't be needed as the closer. He will likely be middle relief.
