I know we've had some walk ons earn scholarships and contribute in the past recent years - but some of that might've been because of attrition and/or busts in our recruiting class.

This past year - to include our recent wide receiver walk on - it looks like we have a number of pwalk ons who could earn a scholarship by their own merits. A couple of the kids had offers to power five schools and chose to walk on here. Impressive.

That WR PWO Montgomery was one I actually got hyped for when he announced and got here, and he looks the part too.

You need some serious talent in the PWO realm I think, those guys will play anywhere on the field and are hungry everyday to prove themselves. Puts the scholarship guys on notice too if they see guys with similar offer list who chose to walk on at UT rather than go somewhere else for a scholarship.

Numbers will get reeeal interesting if they do. I think we already have to shed like 11-13 guys to fit a full class for next year from what I heard.

I think the new 1 year walk on rule is really going to up some P5 walkon programs. Glad we're taking advantage.
