Chaney helped Crompton, and that's something. However, Chaney isn't noted as a recruiter and right now we need SEC players more than anything else. I'd rather have Pittman's recruiting right now than a guy who can turn dials and flip switches to try and squeeze a little more out of JG. We're going backwards in recruiting right now. This staff has put themselves in a tight box. Hold on tight because by end of 2020 season either we're really good or we're back on the coaching search.
It's amazing how BVS has put you guys in panic mode. Kinda sad really.

I know this is going to be met with alot of "you have to have good recruits at all positions" response.... But tbh as long as Harrison Bailey comes out and is as advertised then the rest of the class isn't nearly as important this year. imo in college a good quarterback can literally turn your entire program around in 1-2 years even with deficiencies at other spots.

i think our hopes and dreams of returning to relevance are laying on the right arm of Bailey when referring to 2020 class.

We have elite recruiters. We need to show ability to coach and develop nfl players. That is what is killing recruiting is the stigma butch staff inability to develop players and causing so many career ending injuries. That is what we need to change perception of

I just don't see how that is the case considering where much of the staff came from and who they coached.

Did we just land a 4 star WR...I'm confused about the recent recruiting gloom & doom?
And still big favorites for Hardy/Baron, heavily involved with Washington, Gilbert, Smalls, Sewell, Jarrett and a ton of 4-star guys. Win 7-8 games and players will come out of nowhere to visit too. We gonna be just fine.

Its either championships or burning mattresses! Dude, we're still in July...chill out.

I mean based on the fact we're coming off back to back losing seasons and technically a 3rd coach in 2 seasons (counting Hoke). I think flirting with the top 30 and having just 12 recruits (one being a 2 star long snapper) it's far too early to hit the panic button.

.8815 average rating, last year we finished with .9049 not that far off...

Plus I think the staff can coach up 3/4 star guys better than previous staffs, so I'm really not star gazing with CJP & co at the helm.

I'm more interested to see the on-field product this year than I am to chase ADD recruits.

The thing is with the way ESD is and the transfer rules, these kids really aren't guaranteed to ever see game time. I'm not sure why the NCAA has allowed it to trend this way...a good number of recruits are only getting their 15 minutes via social media and that's pretty sad.

Hoping our staff is better at finding the ball players who don't care about all that non-sense.

It’s been apparent for a long time now we need to adjust our expectations of this program. It’s going to take 3-5 years of a steady doze of 8-9 wins a year before we can expect getting back into the elites of college football. With the current status of the SEC we just aren’t going to skip that step. Pruitt is recruiting in a way that makes that possible but it’s clear he isn’t recruiting well enough to skip that 8-9win segment of rebuilding.

Every National Championship has been won without Pittman. We will survive without his services.
