He literally mentions his track time. Kid doesn't play wr in high school. He referenced his track time and his playing in shorts and a t-shirt in 7v7. That's enough to move a guy from 360 or wherever he was to 28th, which will be a 5 star on their site if he stays there? After seeing him play 7 on 7? That isn't testing numbers Lol...![]()
Note this tweet on what contributed to their rankings of each position:
Bailey might have the best TD:Int ratio in the country. But I guess cause he don’t have a lot of rush yards, he’s a low tier 4 star. That’s what is ridiculous about his ranking

It isn't posters, its what Barton Simmons said. They had him ranked in the 360's because he doesn't play wide receiver. They saw his track time and watched him in 7 on 7 in shorts and a t-shirt and bumped him up to a 5 star level. Yeah... that doesn't make sense.Yes, elite track time as part of the eval. Elite speed is elite speed.
You should check the 247 ranking timeline. He didn't do all that at once. Research first Bass, you know better than to trust the kneejerk posters.

Somehow you're managing to miss the point again and bringing in pointless points. If they would have moved him up 100 or even 200 no one would have noticed, but up to #28 and at a position he has NEVER played on the field, in pads, as a football player.....is ridiculous! And lots of people noticed that and called them out.He was reranked before camps. And yes they also reranked him higher after seeing him in person at his future position. Aight. But it wasn't all at once. Just look for yourself.
This is what I said all last year. Talk about lucky.Saw this on VQ from a guy who referenced a SI article. Seems to indicate last season for Fl was a little fools gold
- Luck. “Let’s examine last year a little closer. Florida went 3-0 in games decided by one score, and that’s not including a 37-27 win over Vanderbilt in which the Gators trailed 21-3 in the second quarter and Vandy star tailback Ke’Shawn Vaughn left due to injury in the first half. Florida had the seventh-best turnover margin in the country (+12), however that was aided by recovering an insane 75% of opponent’s fumbles. That’s the big reason why Bill Connelly’s expected turnover margin for the Gators was 5.2, so definitely expect regression in that department this season. Additionally, all of those takeaways were a major help to the offense, as the Gators ranked sixth in average starting field position.”
- You know who be gone. “Florida returns a good amount of production on both sides of the ball, but the one position that features huge turnover is the offensive line. The Gators have to replace four offensive linemen that racked up a whopping 141 starts. Those four (Martez Ivey, Jawaan Taylor, Tyler Jordan and Fred Johnson) started a combined 51 games last season.”
- Felipe Franks loves a challenge. “When Franks was pressured, though, positive developments rarely happened. He completed 25.3% of his throws (which was dead-last among qualified Power 5 quarterbacks) and had a 62.3 passer rating (53 out of 64), per ESPN’s David Hale. Breaking in four new starters along the offensive line will open things up for opposing pass rushers.”
- Third and Grantham. “But with Grantham loving to dial up blitzes often, that made Florida’s defense vulnerable to explosive plays (68th in IsoPPP in 2018) and third-down conversions (53rd). The Gators will be a force on defense, but ultimately one of the best ways to become elite is to limit big plays. Under Grantham, defenses tend to be more “boom or bust,” as Florida’s defense made big plays, but also surrendered them (tied for 51st in plays allowed for at least 40 yards)
Your opinion...nothing more.I took away:
1) Florida fans were the unhappiest of all fanbases, which makes me happy.
2) HB was rated really early on and really high, when few kids were rated at all, since then many others have been included in the mix and he, in context to others, dropped. This is standard Anchoring Bias as it pertains to our peception of his relative drop.
