It's amazing to me how other SEC teams can lose key personnel and people think they won't be worse. UT can upgrade talent and coaches for the second year in a row and people think we won't be better.

Thought the same thing when looking at Mizzou. Projected 3rd, and they lost one of the best QB’s they’ve ever had.

Vols got no love from the media...

2019 Preseason All-SEC football team: Tua Tagovailoa highlights record 12 Alabama players selected

First Team Secondary:
Delpit - LSU
Reed - Georgia
Diggs - Bama
Henderson - Florida

Second Team Secondary:
Surtain - Bama
McKinney - Bama
Fulton - LSU
Dantzler - MSU

Third Team Secondary:
Acy - Missouri
Carter - Bama
LeCounte - Georgia
Thomas - Auburn
Good. Because pre-season all anything doesn't mean jack poop. Anything that puts a bigger chip on our shoulder is fine with me.

Let's flip this script.

Let's say JG was on that clemson team that went 12-2 with Bryant's stats (an entirely possible and highly probable situation). Now let's say JG transferred here.

What would be the prevailing VN theme this offseason? I promise you it would be different.
If Dooley was our OC, he would still be apt to suck, IMO.

2nd through 5th you can throw under a blanket in my opinion. I believe Florida is overhyped, Mizz could go either way and South Carolina has a gauntlet. I think as far as we are concerned, our floor is 6-6. That being said, if freshman become an impact, transfers are cleared to play and the team grows and plays better ball this season, I think our ceiling is 9-3 or 10-2 if all the breaks go our way.

Now, playing the laws of averages, I think we will end up 8-4.

To play devil's advocate, we've burnt them (and our fans) in football for far too long.

SEC Media has BVS 🤣

I’ve been around long enough to know we can’t count Vandy, Missouri or South Carolina as automatic wins.

Anyone acting any different is blowing smoke.
Don’t know why anyone would count Missouri. And these guys that keep saying we need to “get back” to beating them every year... wut?

No, not automatic wins, merely a better than 50-50 chance that we'll win at least 2 out of 3 of those. At this point, clawing our way back from last season, I'll take that.

Yeah, I’m just gonna have to see it to believe it. I’m a believer in Jeremy Pruitt and the path we’re on - I’m just not sure we’ll take two of three from those teams. We pencil them as wins every offseason then they beat us.

Like I said, I’m gonna have to see our defense hold their offenses in check.

Me, reading your remarks yesterday, then today.

Yesterday I said:
"Silver lining - we've gotten through the "long time to get there". Here comes the good stuff."

on someone feeling confident we get to 8 wins after hearing Pruitt, "You mean 10."

and

on if Pruitt will need excuses, "Won't be need for any. Win 8 or 9 this year, East next year, take it all in 2021. This staff is the real deal. Best in the country."

All aboard the Pruitt train. Choo choo MFers
