Because black isn't in the UT brand palette, which includes Tennessee Orange, White and Smokey. The Nike palette for UT apparel adds Anthracite, which is a dark gray. Either gray outline on the numbers looks good, IMO.

Thank you. I didn't realize it wasn't in the palette. I like it better without it and with the two grays.

Kelly Bryant transferred from Clemson to them. He is more than a serviceable QB.

Here’s an interesting comparison between Bryant’s single year as full time starter in 2017 and Guarantano last year. Interesting because so many see Bryant as elite and Guarantano as a dud. The numbers are actually pretty similar. Yes, Bryant has rushing yardage to add to this and he has the edge on passing yardage, but he also had a way better OL and skill players too. Not too mention a top shelf defense to rely on. Bryant is the top stat line.

Agreed, their schedule is brutal. Vols will likely finish 3rd or 4th this fall ahead of Vandy, UK and SC. If UF or Mizzou stumbles Vols could slide into 3rd.

So you're saying 15-0 is only good enough for 3rd or 4th in the SEC East? Man what a brutal division.

Will we ever have a uni that’s primarily smokey/anthracite? I’m glad it’s still part of the palette especially for fan gear.

Kaepernick told Nike it was a metaphor for separatism. Black must be included in the inner circle of any color scheme for Nike to grant approval.

schedule is extremely favorable, and they replaced Locke with Kelly Bryant, GT QB from Clemson. a lot of people wouldn't be surprised if they finished 2nd behind GA.

I think this will be Vandy’s best team under Mason and they have rocked us the last 3 years. Vaughn is great and that defense will be nice.

In all honestly I think their strengths match up against our weaknesses. 4 upperclassmen OL who have been in the same program for their whole careers, and Vaughn is a top 3ish back in the SEC. I think our DL is a huge question mark at this point

TE and WR are really good too and Mason knows his defense. I think it will be a real test. (Although it’s so hard to predict what each team looks like by the end of the year, so who knows at this point)

I do too so I was explaining how the media could overlook that. Maybe I should have said you know they have to be top 5 draft pick material if they don't play for the top 5 in the SEC.
