Going to Charleston at the end of the month and got my new golf clubs just in time. Looking at playing Shadowmoss while I am there but does anyone have any other course suggestions for Charleston?

I can’t say that I’m totally up on Charleston golf, but I go every year. It’s been a few years, but I’ve played several.

Charleston National and Patriots Point are two affordable ones. I thought both were decent for the price. I played both Wild Dunes courses years ago. They were cool, but I didn’t pay😀

Saw Wild Dunes online, looks really nice. The Harbor course there was pretty reasonably priced too. Main reason I’m eyeing Shadowmoss at the moment is the value. Tee times only $30-40ish a round right now.

In-laws just bought a house in Charleston so I plan to play a new course every time we go visit.

Nice. Jake and I can give you some recommendations on a few things.

Just be prepared for the heat in that area this time of year. I played a lot in Beaufort (30 mins. away) this time a couple years ago. I compare Beaufort to the gates of hell.

You will probably get a break of a few degrees on the coast, but it is hot this time of year.

Ahhh ok. I wasnt able to watch a most of last season, was on VN keeping updated. Missed the entire second half of Auburn game on tv. Missed the second half of Florida game in 2016. Went to 4 home games in my life and lost em all! Also had to leave at halftime vs Iowa years back. Maybe this year I'll go to my first Vols game that we win, and we better because its Ga State!

That Löwenbräu song has been stuck in my head since signing day. I always wanted to go some place where I could drink important beer like that. But they don’t generally give five-year-olds steak and a stein.

I always liked that song. When I saw your post I stopped and sang it slowly in my head. Good blast from the past.

If you are a serious golfer and have the money, take a trip about 30 minutes or so south to Kiawah. You will not regret it.

Always a good day for golf when you’re not paying haha

Headed to Waco, San Antonio, and Austin next week if anyone wants to drop food suggestions.
Right down I-35 huh? Need to tag @Sleegro for Austin I think. For San Antonio it depends on where you're going to be. Some general options:

La Fogata - best margarita in town. Don't drive after drinking more than one.
Mi Tierra or La Margarita in El Mercado are long time classics
Schilo's German deli on Commerce downtown
Dough for pizza
Southerleigh Brewery in the old Pearl Brewery is good but there are lot's of good breweries around
Magnolia for breakfast
Pollos Asados for local flavor

For barbecue, I'm partial to places that are a bit out of the city. City Market in Luling. Kreuz or Black's in Lockhart (although Black's has branched out and has other locations now). Salt Lick in Dripping Springs is good but touristy (and BYOB). Near there but not barbecue is Trattoria Lisina which is absolutely worth the drive. Hay's County Barbecue in San Marcos.
