Maybe. I remember all the talk last off-season and they came into Neyland and skull****ed us on their way to a 10 win year.

Not saying that guarantees future success, I’d just prefer to handle our own business before throwing stones in our glass house.
normally, i agree. but we weren't going to beat FL last year, no matter what. that it was as bad as it was had a lot more to do with us than them, though the end result wouldn't have likely changed had we not helped. just the margin.

if you're talking about directions of programs, it's hard not to look at what is going on at FL and not question it. likewise, we're coming off a 4 and 5 win season, we beat two top 20 teams last year and just reeled in a top 12 class despite all the dysfunction we've shown. at the very least, there's a notion now that in Knoxville the new boss is NOT the same as the old boss, and while we lack results to show for it, the direction at least appears headed in a positive direction.

if TN and FL were on a "futures" graph, i think the lines would pass each other, and the intersect point is probably around "now" lol.

hopefully anyway............

People be WILDIN out here

Chick in the stripes at 1:15 looks like she plays for Tiger High. Penny taught her that flopping

🤦🏼‍♂️ I'm not surprised but, had any one of those attempts at a punch landed, any on of those people could have been seriously injured by hitting asphalt or on an object. Then, stupidity becomes a very major crime.

It's a shame that no one went to jail. I did not watch whole thing but, they should have been arrested just for being dumb.

That’s all fine, and I’m not saying I disagree.

However, all these same lines were tossed around last year too. We don’t know where we are until we play that game - and there’s nothing, whether it be recent success, recruiting trends, or head to head coaching history, to suggest we’re going to go into the Swamp and win - let alone be the favorites.

The offseason hype is getting a little too big around here - which is fine and to be expected.

Nobody said we were going to win this year. I said we need to reverse the trend and win at least two of the next 3 because the gators will be so young in 2020 and 2021 whereas we will be a veteran, experienced, and highly talented team in those 2 seasons. They will be playing freshmen and sophomores against our juniors and seniors in those two years.

I would bet the dude beating up women in front of a hundred onlookers probably went to jail

For sure - that’s our opportunity to strike.

I’m just not sure I buy the doom and gloom stuff from Gainesville - there are some troubling trends for them, it just feels like we’re looking at it with orange tinted glasses. I could very easily see a scenario in which, if similar things were happening at UT, that we would spin it as Pruitt changing the culture. I’m sure Florida fans are spinning it the same way.

As we all know, these jobs mostly come down to recruiting. Gotta get good players and gotta be good at evaluating talent. That’s where Butch fell off - and while the current roster issues at Florida looks bad, if Mullen recruits and evaluates like he always has, they’ll likely weather the storm. Doesn’t mean we won’t be better, though.

eh. i thought last year was by and large a 6-6 "just get to a bowl" year.

this year, i think most still expect to lose to FL. i know i do. i think we have an outside chance to pull out an upset, but if you're telling me to put money on it, i wouldn't bet on it.

now where i will agree with you on this year is some of this stuff that's coming out about FPI and such. that's a lot of garbage lol.

favored in 9 games? really? now when you look at some of those "favors", they're really pick 'ems based on the %'s but yeah, this notion of being a top 15 team in any manner etc...it is too much too early and people really shouldn't buy in to all that non sense.

my comments are really about looking 2-3 years down the road, and i think Bass's are too, though his timeline might be a little ahead of mine....but regardless, you start talking about the future, and it's crapshoot. lot's can happen, lots can change. just right now, it looks like it has a chance to go that direction.

I'm sure they're spinning it just like we tried to spin things about the intern. Every fanbase does it. But even without orange tinted glasses, losing your best signee to transfer before his first season plus all of the decommitments and other transfers is not good. Further, there is actual proof in the case that Smalls, 5 star OLB had Florida as his leader until the stuff with Chris Steele happened and he said he was no longer considering them because of it. There's no spinning that.
