2020 Presidential Race

I have no idea. Certainly I've not heard of any of the candidates saying they want to ban Fox News. Just picked one and asked.

Given the lack of response, I'll just chalk this up as a typical right wing hysterical nonsense rant.
Kind of like when the GOP tells black people that if the other side wins then they will put black people back in chains and take away old people’s social security. Oh wait that’s not the GOP who does that.

The tape used is basically what goes around windows. That tape doesnt last too long. It's real weak against movement. Plywood doesnt stay too still.
Good to know. We are building a house and my contractor used plywood and Tyvek wrap . Another house that he is building has the green board because his customer wanted it.

Let's just say many down here arent a fan of green boards.

The tape chemically bonds with the board after a day or 2. It is impossible to remove it, the zip board will delaminate before the tape comes off. Zip system is great, when the price point is equal to OSB plus tyvek/tape, i think it will all but replace tyvek. The only time really to not use zip is on a fire rated wall where you have to add a layer of sheetrock on the outside.

Properly nailed at edges and in the field, exterior sheeting shouldnt move at all. The wood frame apartment bldgs we build are expected to compress .25in per floor, so 1.25inches on a 5 floor bldg, but that is due to studs recessing in the plates due to weight, and shouldnt put stress on the exterior sheeting "on the rack" or diagonally..the entire exterior wall should function as a solid unit if nailed properly...usually 6in on edges and 10 or 12 in the field. I have never seen zip buckle on our jobs, though i only see them for maybe 6 months after they are framed. When the bldgs are loaded with drywall however, they do about all of the settling they are gonna do. Then we can pull the pins from the slackjacks (uptake devices) on our threaded rod systems. (CLP) we install our own CLP systems.

The only true knock on the zip system is that when you have a kickout flashing for siding or brick/stone...the top of the L flashing doesnt truly "shingle " like it does behind tyvek for water intrusion. It just gets sealed at the top with zip tape. This worried me at first, but then i learned how the tape bonds with the board chemically, and we have projects almost 10 years old with zip that havent leaked...so now i am a believer.

By the way...its 23 to 25 dollars a roll usually...but zip tape is the best tape i have ever used. Ever. It is so sticky that it will quickly make your finger tips raw, if it sticks to them 3 or 4 times and you have to peel it off..bc it is so sticky that it removes a layer or 2 of skin each time. It is also VERY strong, very hard to pull in two. Anything in life that you think " a little duct tape would hold that maybe..." is what you use ziptape for. Better in every way. You could hog tie a bengal tiger with that stuff. I keep a roll or 2 in the truck at all times. It has saved me lots of headache in many different scenarios. I wish that i had flashed all my windows and doors at my house with it, instead of what i used.

I am with Slice, though skeptical at 1st, I am very much a believer in the zip system. FOR WALLS. Its a waste of money on the roof. Use 15 weight felt instead of 30. Thats how you make a top quality roof. Also, ice/water shield in valleys, especially at a 6 pitch and below.

72...theres nothing at all wrong with Tyvek. The only time it has issues is when it isnt installed properly. If it is lapped 12 inches at all seams, taped properly, and extra slack is left in the inside corners so it doesnt get punctured when a piece of siding gets jammed in the corner...it is great stuff. There is also exactly 1 way to correctly run it around window and door jambs, leaving a flap above them cut on a 45 degree angle on each end, so that after the window or door is installed, the flap is put back down and taped with tyvek tape. Then you have a redundant, water tight system. The tyvek system properly installed is very effective, sadly there are many contractors who dont know how to install it properly. All our jobs have a 3rd party water intrusion inspection, i have to take video of installing the 1st window and door, then pass a water inspection, then they come setup a system with a bunch of sprinklers outside the bldg under pressure to mimic a freaking hurricane...while a guy inside uses a special vacuum machine to see if the windows leak. Yes, unfortunately i am serious. These GCs take water intrusion very very seriously, because it is far and away the number 1 reason for lawsuits 10 years later. 1 of my buildings was actually featured on the zip system website, and we have the field reps for Tyvek come out when we use it, they inspect the jobs too from time to time.

From the owners/ GC perspective, their biggest concern is always water. The county inspectors biggest concern is always fire. Both are incredibly picky, and will not allow us to deviate from best methods, ever. You have zero worries with your house as long as the tyvek guys knew what they were doing though.

Most around here are not using the tape. They are using the caulking and a putty knife. (Much faster and better seal) the testing doesn’t lie. It’s killing traditional house wrap to the point that tyvek is coming out with their own version.

Christine Pelosi WARNS, it's 'quite likely that some of our faves are implicated' in 'horrific' Epstein case

Christine Pelosi, a Democratic National Committee official and daughter of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, warned conspicuously on Saturday evening that it is "quite likely that some of our faves are implicated" in the "horrific" sex-trafficking case against politically connected financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein is due in court following his sudden arrest Saturday in New York on new sex-trafficking charges involving allegations dating to the early 2000s, according to law enforcement officials. He has been accused of paying underage girls for massages and sexually abusing them at his mansion in Palm Beach, Fla., and in New York City. His 72-acre private estate on the Virgin Islands, a home said to be nicknamed "Orgy Island," also has been under scrutiny.

"This Epstein case is horrific and the young women deserve justice," Pelosi tweeted. "It is quite likely that some of our faves are implicated but we must follow the facts and let the chips fall where they may - whether on Republicans or Democrats."

It was unclear exactly to whom Pelosi was referring, but Epstein has long been connected with high-profile figures, including Britain's Prince Andrew and former President Bill Clinton. Court documents obtained by Fox News in 2016 showed that Clinton took at least 26 trips flying aboard Epstein's private jet, known as the "Lolita Express," and apparently ditched his Secret Service detail on some of the excursions. Records showed that President Trump apparently flew on the jet at least once.

The president previously called attention to Clinton's dealings with the financier.

"Nice guy -- uh, got a lot of problems coming up, in my opinion, with the famous island, with Jeffrey Epstein," Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity in 2015, referring to Clinton's connections with Epstein. "A lot of problems."

Trump banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago estate “because Epstein sexually assaulted an underage girl at the club,” according to court documents filed by Bradley Edwards, the lawyer who has represented several Epstein accusers. That claim has not been confirmed by Trump or Mar-a-Lago.

Thanks. Our house is brick. Whether or not the Tyvek was installed properly is anyone's guess, and it's too late now anyway.

Interesting...

I wonder if Harris's plan for giving black people money to buy homes extends to people who identify as black? Are the loans going to also ignore terrible credit history and income? Man...this sounds awfully familiar.....

Democrats repackage and recycle old, failed ideas but somehow manage to convince dopes that it will work under their skillful hands.
