I mean, it seems like the season is shot if JG goes down, and if he comes here, that looks really bad on Shrout and though Mauer is a true freshman, it wouldn’t bode well for him either.

You would think they want to build with their own guys even if it means taking some lumps, but football is a “produce now” game

Yeah I agree but if he was interested in being here then that's an upgrade to our roster. If JG gets hurt then we'll see this year what we've got. Mauer flashed at the O/W game but that's not really much to hang your hat on. Hopefully our backups will get a lot of mop up time early in the season.
