I'm in the process of trying to find an at home groomer since he is not up to date in vaccinations and it is a struggle so far. Used to take him to PetSmart monthly for that, but no more.
This is my worry, too.I'll spare my Petsmart story, you might even remember it. They lucky I didn't blow the damn place up.
I always took Behr to get his nails clipped because I was just too chicken. I had visions off getting one too short and getting into a vein. Lol, never cut them myself in 10 years.
I tried trimming a Scotty I had’s nails and clipped one too short and cut into his vein (didn’t know that was possible at the time). It took about an hour to get the bleeding to stop. Never tried that again.I'll spare my Petsmart story, you might even remember it. They lucky I didn't blow the damn place up.

Haha, if I'd kept reading before I replied to Winders.Thank goodness you don’t take him there. I’ve read the horror stories.

Yeah, I got one, them fawkers almost cut one of Behr's ears off....and didn't tell me!!!? I found out when I got home and blood was all over the back seat of my truck and I could see in his face he was dizzy and in pain.
I lost my marbles.
I’m glad I wasn’t there, i would’ve gone Tasmanian Devil on they asses.Haha, if I'd kept reading before I replied to Winders.

OH, MY GOOD LORD! I’d killed someone who did that to my Daisy. We found a reputable groomer close, thank goodness. Even then, I would never leave her. Sorry to hear that happened to Behr.
He was only 6 months old and I just didn't know any better. You know? I was born and raised in Tennessee. Had dogs my whole life and there was no such thing as a groomer and the only time a dog went to the vet is if he got kicked in the head by a cow, run over by a tractor or got in a fight with a bobcat and insides were out.
Anyway, after that errythang changed.
That's our issue, can't tell on Rocky's nails and he doesn't really let us mess with his paws, he did great with PSI clip my cat's claws with a (human) nail clipper turned sideways. Luckily, it's easy to tell where the quick is in a cat's claw, because if you ever hit it, that will be the last time that you trim that cat's claws.
