He'll be off medication for a long while before they let him even think about practice. They need to make sure he doesn't develop the clots without physical contact before letting he do anything with pads onCorrect. And they did - at the very least - weekly tests to monitor the clots. When they found issues, they pulled him out last year.
The danger is in taking him off the medication, obviously. They’ve mitigated the risk a ton.
Like I said, this is up to Trey and UT has done everything they can to support him.
