I’m going to need you to look up outlier in the dictionary.
I know what an outlier is. I’d be more inclined to agree if he didn’t shave a full run off his FIP last year or was good for just part of the season. He was really good throughout and his FIP was 3.37.
He never got a ST. He lost his slider command. It took awhile to find his fastball velo but he got it back. He needed some time to work on stuff without facing big league bats and he’s had two solid starts in Gwinnett. I’m not going to give up on a guy with his numbers last year that easily.
A) I don’t think you do considering you’re making excuses to try rationalizing why his normal behavior isn’t his normal behaviorI know what an outlier is. MAMA THERE GOES THAT MANA) I don’t think you do considering you’re making excuses to try rationalizing why his normal behavior isn’t his normal behavior
B) he made 4 official minor league starts. That’s pretty in line with everyone else’s ST
C) he gave up 8 hits in 5 IP. I didn’t see the contact or him pitching, but that’s not ideal
D) you don’t have to give up on something you never bought into. I’d love for him to have a 2.85 ERA, our team would be a lot better. I’d also love to win the powerball.
Grandma use to tell me you can wish in one hand and spit in the other. See which one gets full first.
2.85 folty is a dream. An outlier. A mirage.
AND even then, ZERO people were comfortable with Folty pitching in the postseason AT HIS PEAK. Zero. We don’t need him to win the division and we sure as hell do not need to run him out there in the playoffs, so, pray tell, what do I need from him?
I don’t understand why this is still a conversation. Go get a real life dude to stand up next to Soroka at the front end of a series and pray like hell soroka stays healthy and effective. Maybe white Julio dials it in, maybe Max makes the leap, maybe Bryse is a dude, maybe Julio is on a heater down the stretch. But don’t tell me anybody wants folty on the hill in October.
