From 247:
“If I had to choose today, my five visits would be to Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Miami and LSU,” Washington said. “Things could change but that’s where it’s at today. I haven’t set up any dates yet but I plan to take all of those visits during the season so I can visit on a game weekend.”
Washington talked about what stands out about each of the five schools:
Georgia- “
Dell McGee is a real good guy and someone I have a good relationship with. I’ve already been to Georgia 2-3 times and I really like the campus and the school itself.
Kirby Smart is a great coach and one of the head coaches that’s personally involved in my recruitment and I like how they plan to use the tight end in the offense as well.”
Tennessee- “Out of all the coaches recruiting me, I have the best relationship with coach (Brian) Niedermeyer. He’s a great guy and someone I know I would enjoy playing for as a position coach. I’ve been there 2-3 times as well and just like with Georgia, I love the campus and the passion for football everyone has out there.”
Alabama- “I like
Jeff Banks (TE) coach. We’re pretty close and he’s a funny dude, we get along well.
Nick Saban is great as well and of all the schools I visited, Bama probably has the best weight room and strength program that I’ve seen. I like the campus a lot too and they put tight ends in to the League (NFL) and that’s definitely my goal.”
Miami- “That’s TEU (tight end university). Everyone talks about using the tight end but with Miami, you can see it and they’re tradition at the position is really strong. I like
Manny Diaz a lot, he’s involved recruiting me and I think I would fit in really well there. Brevin (Jordan) is already there and I always have people hitting me up saying they need another tight end from the 702 (area code). I was there for the Paradise Camp and loved it there.”
LSU- “I had great visits to LSU and love the staff there. Coach O (Orgeron) is great and I really like the direction the program is going. They told me they already use the tight end in their offense but they plan to emphasize it even more this season so I’m excited to watch them on the field and see exactly how I would fit in there.”
