Nice..Which beach?

10 min or so north of Kennebunk. Water is always ice cold, which is a big departure from the gulf beaches I went to as a kid. Wife’s family has a place up here. We love coming up and letting the kids build memories like my wife has from her childhood.

There is nothing peaceful about New England I live there. Traffic is awful. Maybe up where you are it is nice if you are on vacation but living in New England sucks.

What a great story on Nate Lashley from a small town in NE. He won the Rocket Mortgage pro golf tourney today. In 2004 his parents and then girlfriend left after watching him play in the West regional his dad flying the plane back to NE crashed and died. everyone was rooting for him and man it was emotional watching it.

Oh I get it. But this town is so laid back. Just down the road it’s a different story, but this area is pretty quiet. Hasn’t changed much at all in 40 years. Just built a new Dunkin a mile or so from the house. Threw us all off.

I’m exhausted, literally exhausted. I know there is a few of you that have parents that have dementia. Yesterday, dad was having a good day. Today, from around 6 in the morning, it’s been horrific. He thought it was Saturday and missed preaching on TV this morning. From bringing in a kitten, that he found outside and is now frightened of. Haven’t been able to get him in shower all day (has taken 2 a day all his life), somehow has found clippers (while I was at the grocery store) and clipped his own hair (gapes all over), hasn’t eaten all day, throwing the remote a few times, screamed at neighborhood children for getting too loud. What do you all do?

I’ll take Tennessee or North Carolina any day 😂 but I understand the Cape is pretty as well.

What I’ve been told is that it’s gonna suck, and it’s gonna keep getting suckier. Don’t worry about the stuff he won’t do and concentrate on what he will. Praise him for the stuff he does well and remember you’re not talking to your loved one, your talking to a disease. And remember you’re not alone.

And you need to dad-proof you house as soon as possible. Your homemade haircut is like my dads bacon soup. They find brand new ways to mess up, you just have to remember that you love them and that you’re not alone.

Lean on friends and family, all I know to say. So much out of our control but so important to keep your mind clear.
I'll keep sending best wishes your way.

Thank you, he has been diagnosed for a few years, I’m a daddy’s girl and every once in a while, it gets overwhelming, like today.
