2020 Presidential Race

If it's a load of crap, then a poster should be able to explain why... but they never can.
I don’t know about that. There are some great posters on here, most of whom will occasionally use LOL along with their cogent observations. Others not so much though, so your point does have SOME validity.

It's amazing that these leftist extremists (and Willie Brown was a close friend and supporter of the Reverend Jim Jones, of the People's Temple, - up until the day in November of 1978, when he led over 900 people to suicide) suddenly have credibility with Breitbart and the right, when they are being critical of Democratic candidates and saying things you want to hear. What a joke.

It doesn't take much thought to see that the First Debate was a massive loss for the DNC as a whole.

It doesn't take much thought to see that is how anyone who plans to vote for Donald Trump in 2020 (and likely didn't even watch either of the two debates - or even knows that there were two) would want to perceive them. Now, having said that, even if true ... the general election is 16 months away. Do you remember any specific exchanges from the primary debates of 2015? Of course not.

There wasn't much thought involved in some of their answers either. To a large extent they were like the puppets of the moderators. "Raise your hand if your government policy on XXX would include YYY" and all the hands go up.

It's good to assume things about people. I watched both of them and watched them laughing. You think a platform of Open Borders, Free Medical for everyone on the planet, and having the working class pay for it is going to fly? The debates were a sloppy, borderline incoherent, pandering crap-fest.

My favorite exchange BTW was when Christie made Rubio look like a complete robot.

Case in Point: The winner of the first Democratic debate: Donald Trump

The RNC was celebrating when they all raised their hands on that question. The goal of the first debate for the challenging party is to not give the other-side unlimited attack ad ideas.

This is incredibly early in the process and there will not always be 10 candidates on the stage or the need for two separate debates.

The goal of Republicans right now shouldn't be to rally the black vote around one of our candidates this early in the primary season... but I'm sure that Kamala Harris appreciates the assist from Donald Trump Jr.

With the current Democrat platforms, they will alienate the moderates. They have absolutely raced left on far too many issues.

Biden really isn't a "moderate" candidate as people are trying to portray him to be. He has moved wayyy to the left in an attempt to catch up with the Democrat party's shift left.

Maybe that's the strategy: go as far left as you can go during the primary season and then shift back towards the middle for the general. The problem is however, they're giving Donald Trump a ton of ammunition come the general election.

I wasn't talking about you specifically... the bottom line is, that it's way too soon for anything of significance to occur. We are 7 months away from the Iowa Caucuses. Good lord.

Wait until they find out that Kamala loves locking up people. Far Left won't support her because of her record as California AG.

With the access to information nowadays, that strategy will fail badly. Biden is just pandering.

I agree. This is just a warning.

Right... to hell with the fact that it was her job. How stupid. What the hell do you think an Attorney General does? And the far left won't support her? She won her Senate seat overwhelmingly and nobody is farther left than northern California which is where she is from.

I watched both dem debates as I like to see what crazy stuff the left thinks now. Same reason I watch msnbc and cnn. I need to know what the enemy is thinking now.....and I do view them as the enemy in the same way I view half the weak azz republicans as my enemy.

What I saw was a complete pandering to the Illegal population, the population that wants free stuff, and a disdain for white male men.

If you were a moderate or an independent you walked away from those debates thinking these guys want to bring this country to its knees.

Trump won that debate and wasn’t even there.

If Harris or Booker are your end candidates you get destroyed in the electoral race.

Punish parents for truancy by throwing them in jail? You know that separating families thing that the debate pandered to?

Here's more information on her record: Kamala Harris: Bad on Criminal Justice | National Review
Do you mean that Republicans are going to actually attack a Democrat for being too tough when it comes to enforcing the law ? Wow, I guess if you live long enough, you really will see everything.

I'd bet that over half the viewers of both debates were conservative "Trump" voters like myself who wanted to see how the "competition" or lack there of stacked up and we weren't disappointed.

Anyone who thinks any of that bunch has a chance are nuts.

That is not what the polls say so far (obviously, too early to matter but all of the top Democratic candidates are leading Trump) but I like their chances vs an incumbent candidate who through two and a half years in office, still can't get his Real Clear Politics Average Approval Rating over 46%. He is still only at 49% in the right leaning Rasmussen poll.

Worked so well for 2016? Trump's approval rating honestly doesn't matter. His thing is making the other-side more dislike-able than him. The first debates are ammunition to make any of those candidates more unlikeable... Playing into his strategy.

You are missing my point... the far left ALREADY HAS supported her. She was easily elected to the Senate from the state of California (the most liberal state).

You're telling me that Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein are also favorable to the far left? She got elected because she ran as a D in California... Not because of policy. I actually do keep up with the Far Left, and they do not like Kamala at all.
