I got the feeling last year that although Pruitt expects to win and thought he could get more out of the players, he was shocked at the shape the players were in both mentally and physically. He certainly did not think coming to Tennessee that players would have to continue the workout schedule during the season.
Wonder if he would have taken the job if he’d realized just how bad the player development and culture was?

For $3M+ at a top program...yes. You know any HC job, following a fired HC, means a TON of work is coming up. These guys aren't ignorant.

We have to remember that Pruitt was at Alabama right from the get go of the Saban era. They came off a 6-7 season where their wins were vacated, even in an SEC that was wayyyy down. Saban came in with a whopper 7-win season, with 3 of those wins eventually vacated too.

He got to witness the turnaround that was needed and...it came. He knows what it takes. He knows the sacrifice. I believe he is under no illusions.

Read an interesting article by a top college offensive coach a little while back. For the life of me, I can't remember now who it was (maybe, mayyyyybe it was Lincoln Riley). But he had an interesting view of QB recruiting that was different than many fans view it - he basically said his top attribute was accuracy and making various throws in an accurate manner. Not that crazy, but he downplayed arm strength in a BIG way. Many fans want big arms and think we can develop accuracy later. This coach said accuracy is fairly innate and could only be coached to a degree. Said arm strength was overvalued, because so few plays actually require it.

Anyway, just thought that was really interesting and counter-intuitive to me.

Too much football talk in here today. Figure I’ll brag on my four year old son’s creative language skills. He apparently doesn’t know the word diarrhea, so instead he referred to that unfortunate condition as “juice poops”.

Did you hear about John? He caught a lil ol case of the juice poops.... 😂

That’s a good start sir. Young man has a lot of potential. I have a lot of adjectives that describe that unfortunate condition. I’d get banned if I posted them. Lol

Oh yeah dunno how I forgot this but watching the Tennessee coaches golfing on their down day reminded me of it.

For the idiot who commented I can’t believe the coaches are out golfing instead of recruiting our class sucks.....

I hope you see this and realize how big of an idiot you are after the recruiting that has happened recently.

Enjoy.

"I spoke with someone in Texas close to Haynes' recruitment and he didn't outright tell me Haynes was going to be a Vol but he strongly suggested it. I can't really tell you more than that but I think we're going to be happy tomorrow. He said Haynes is going to tweet his commitment."

Tmrw afternoon.

God I hope so!!

4☆Chris Morris
4☆BJ Ojulari
4☆Haynes King
4☆Tyler Baron
4☆Reggie Grimes
3☆Tre'Vonn Rybka
3☆Tee Hodge
3☆Octavious Oxedine
3☆Mordecai McDaniel

Other possible:

5☆Sav'ell Smalls

4☆Omari Thomas
3☆James Robinson
