Basilio said today that he thinks Blackshear would take the spot of Kent instead of Burns. He said something about the inner circle of Burns pushing back at Barnes on the idea of Burns being forced out now. I can't recall to what extent the part about the inner circle was being reported as a fact instead of just a rumor.
If Blackshear chooses UT, Barnes may consider the blowback received due to his choice of who to cut.
I'm sure he'll consider it, but I don't think CRB will put a lot of weight on it. More likely I think he'll consider Kent's likely hood of putting his injury behind him and how well each player has responded to being coached for his system... especially their attitudes. We're not there. Maybe Burns is a great kid and Kent is a pain in the ***. Maybe Burns has been awakened by the possibility of being pushed out. But I don't agree if Basilio is suggesting that Burns' advisors are putting pressure on Barnes that will have much clout in the decision. But it's all moot until Blackshear makes a decision or July 1st rolls around.
Yup...he just said recently how we would take both Bilau and Blackshear, yet we weren’t even willing to take Bilau alone.Once again, Basilio is just stirring the pot. Amazes me how many people take his word for gospel. He knows some things, absolutely. He's not always wrong. But he just throws guesses out there or speaks half-truths more often.
Exactly. His "sources" a lot of times end up being message boards anyway. I do think he has a few legit guys connected to UT, but he likes to present speculation as fact too often.Yup...he just said recently how we would take both Bilau and Blackshear, yet we weren’t even willing to take Bilau alone.
Exactly. I think he's making a decision based on research, counsel, probably input from those around him he trusts the most. He will decide soon, and I think the timing is just him being thorough, with nothing to do with liking or not liking us.It's not at all unreasonable for transfers to take all visits, gather information, get with their advisors and analyze it all, and then make a well informed decision. Even if he picks a team now, it isn't a binding decision.
IDK about that, but he's as close as UT could get to replacing Grant Williams. He's irreplaceable, but Blackshear would be as close as you could get IMO. Aside from landing a five-star.Exactly how good is this kid? Some are inferring if we land Blackshear, we won’t miss a beat from last year and may be even better??
I don’t think anyone knows what we will be, I highly doubt that we match our regular season win total, but could we be close and maybe playing better come March? Absolutely.Exactly how good is this kid? Some are inferring if we land Blackshear, we won’t miss a beat from last year and may be even better??
Less likely to struggle with length in the front court with Blackshear, Plavsic, Kent and Fulkerson. Now that may be asking for too many GOOD things to go our way this season. But, there's hope.Exactly how good is this kid? Some are inferring if we land Blackshear, we won’t miss a beat from last year and may be even better??
Good to know you’re listening. The Bilau thing smells and you know it. Full roster, yet UT was still actively recruiting and absolutely offered.Yup...he just said recently how we would take both Bilau and Blackshear, yet we weren’t even willing to take Bilau alone.
