I’m not sure where GW goes, I’m very curious to find out, my guess is somewhere below 20...I was simply curious as to your criteria and 2 guys that immediately came to mind that fit ppg/rpg.
Grant's ceiling is Draymond Green, so I could see the Warriors being interested. Especially if they have decided to let Draymond walk in the offseason. The Spurs love high IQ guys, so I think that could be a landing spot. Grant seems like he would fit in well with the Pacers culture and how they have shaped that team. If you were to ask me to name the 3 most likely landing spots, those would be the 3 that stand out the most right now. That could all change once we get the leaks about workouts, what teams are looking for specifically, etc.

The Nets, Spurs, and Celtics all have 2 first round picks outside the lottery. I think those teams could take a flier on a high upside developmental guy and then take the higher floor in Grant with the other pick. If Grant lights it up from 3 during the combine and private workouts he basically becomes a fit for any roster at that point.

Latest ESPN mock draft has Grant falling to the 2nd round. However it also has Bone sneaking into the 2nd round.

NBA mock draft: First-round movement and latest intel
I’ll still be shocked if Grant goes in then first round. I’ll be happy for him if he does, but anyone watching the NBA playoffs can see the difference in elite athleticism. That said, I don’t think he would benefit one bit if he’d come back.

Bone on the other hand needs major help with his shot (flat) and needs to become the alpha. I was shocked at his combine stats because we sure didn’t see it fulfilled. He was reluctant at times to drive and draw contact. With Grant gone Barnes won’t be working the post game and Bone could shine. With an improved shot, scoring mentality, and defense he could be a potential first rounder.

Is Grant or his game anything like that of Green’s? Honest question

Their games and scouting reports leading up to the draft are very similar (links below). High IQ, "tweener", great passer out of the post, not selfish at all, high motor, leadership, etc. They measured the same height at the combine and only have a 4 lb weight difference. The body fat % was entirely different though.

The biggest difference is Draymond's wing span is about 5 inches longer than Grant's which matters in the NBA and Draymond also shot more 3's in college compared to Grant. I think Grant has solid form and can develop that outside shot, but I don't know how confident he is letting it fly right now. The one thing that I'm not sure Grant will be able to duplicate is the elite level defense that Draymond plays. You can pretty much put Draymond on the other team's best player and feel ok about it. Grant will have some work to do there against smaller and quicker guards.

Draymond Green would be the ceiling for Grant Williams, but what is often overlooked is the floor. I think his floor resembles Jared Dudley, Udonis Haslem, and PJ Tucker. Maybe even a little Boris Diaw with his IQ. All guys that have been around the league for a bit and made some good money. I think Grant Williams will be a solid role player in the league for a while with the ability to be a consistent contributor to a good team if he can continue to extend his range beyond the 3 point line and defend on the perimeter.

I've been a Celtics fan since John Havlicek and Dave Cowens (Man, I'm old) and I know it won't happen but all three would be good fits with the Celtics with the Celtics second and third first round picks and their second round pick. Grant would look great as Al Horford's understudy and Rozier is basically talking the Celtics into giving someone like Bone his spot.

No. Draymond is a PG
No reason why Grant can't become a similar type of player. Draymond averaged 4.1 assists and 3.8 assists his last two years at Michigan State. Averaged 0.7, 1.9, and 3.7 assists his first three years in the NBA before he started averaging 6 and 7 assists a game.

I’m hoping GW got a promise from a team because he is dropping like a rock in most mocks, almost all the ones I have seen now have him end of 1 or early 2.

I'm a Celtics fan as well. I hope Celtics don't waste a first round pick on Grant. Of the three I'd rather have bone in Celtics green

Not seeing the GW to Green comparisons outside height and tweener-ism. Draymond plays like a PG on offense a lot, and the combination of his IQ/Wingspan lets him be a force defensively. I just can't see GW being able to switch on smalls as easily or get the steals/blocks Green does. Offensively GW is a good passer, but Green is an another level of vision from most forwards.

Williams is a better shot blocker than Green. Passing is a wash. I agree with you on the other points

Can’t believe he stayed in the draft without one or more teams promising him they would pick him and most likely in the first round. He could have returned and honed his outside shot to improve his draft status instead of rolling the dice if he didn’t have some assurances
