That’s a scary concept and very much a reality. We’re basically Colorado or Minnesota at this point. We’ve been down a long time and we’re not “cool” to the current top recruits.

We really could use a 5* elite commit to bring back some luster for the short term, or get Kamara to wear a Vols jersey in a lil Wayne video.
I’ve made the point about being Colorado before but I don’t believe it anymore. Our infrastructure puts us at a higher floor than the examples you’ve cited - facilities, SEC money, and proximity to talent. Colorado, Minnesota, and at least two thirds of P5 programs don’t have all three. Granted, we’ve been at our floor for a long time, but that’s thanks to really, really bad coaching hires. I’ll maintain that we are only the right coaching hire away from a return to prominence until my days are done.

And yes, I realize that hiring the right coach is more nuanced than I am making it sound in a 100 word message board post, but once we get it right (which may very well be now) I think we’ll be just fine.

1st soccer game with Catbone

Me: Alright guys, this is a tough team but as long as we play physical and control the middle, we have a great chance to sneak in cheap goals.

Catbone: idk, they're all Hispanic, we dont have a chance.

DAMN IT CATBONE

I'm already mad at you Catbone. you're off the team.

Just walking home from grabbing some tacos and see Janeane Garofolo hanging out on the backside staircase of the Orange Peel. Stopped and waved at her from the alley. She looked down and waved back. Was too scared to tell her we had passed on free tix to see her show and kept walking. So that was my 5 seconds of brush with b-list fame today.

Oh by the way (i think it was you sorry) im not in LA anymore with the band. Kinda fell apart at the very end right before we released stuff 😭
It was me. Sorry about that, man. Here's my obligatory halftime-like speech, "If at first, u don't succeed, try, try again". At least tell me, when u left town, many women (I know u posted that u dig asian chicks) cried.

I agree. I don’t think we’re stuck there with Colorado and Minnesota forever because we have more opportunities for improvement, but generally that’s how we’re viewed by recruits and rivals. A once powerhouse that fell behind and is irrelevant now. With Fulmer in place and the Haslams not calling every shot I think we can get out of the mire though.

The right hire is all it takes. I hope we’ve made it.

Upsets go a long way.

Last year was obviously a mixed bag, but I think everyone knows it's only a matter of time before we amass our streaks against Vandy and Kentucky again. Beating Auburn at the plains and ending that drought against SECw teams did way more good than losing to Vandy did bad.

Anxious to see who we upset this year. Florida is my pick.
