The Karo mention reminds me... I bought some Chayote at the farmers market yesterday, Chupa likes it, and I had a recipe from years ago that I don't even remember making, but it called for backstrap molasses.

I've made one called "old Charleston style shrimp and grits" several times. Dont know what's really different or special about it, but everyone likes it.

I dont recall been a year or so, I tend to get quality ingredients and pay more for something like that when cooking for family or guests.
