2020 Presidential Race

That in no way describes Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. It was a disaster from the start and Steve Wynn tried to explain to him why it would be... he didn't listen.

Yeah, he didn't listen, took a chance and failed. A failed casino hotel in a crap laden destined to be craphole, that he thought could be revitalized and sustained and not be craphole. He was wrong.

Look at the second line, as this falls in that category, as real estate.

Lots of people bought overvalued houses during a government fueled bubble and buying binge. Does that make them criminal or greedy or just stupid for not recognizing the market for what it was. Seems like there's always a failure to recognize basic laws of physics and thermodynamics in "investments". What goes up, must come down, and you can't get something for nothing are two of the most important. Frictional forces like taxes, fuel, and other forms of overhead are the things that come into play in another one ... you can't get as much as you thought you could.

If Trump was such a terrible businessman why in the hell was he on every magazine, every celeb wanted to be around him, every politician wanted to be seen with him?
I thought celebs and politicians are trash? Would certainly explain a lot of things about him.

No one can ever say that he hasn't been very skilled and effective at marketing the Trump "brand", but to an extent, you have this backward. Trump donated $1 million to the Clinton foundation in order to get Bill and Hillary to attend his wedding to Melania. He also paid Elton John (reports have it from anywhere between $500K and $800K) to perform at the wedding reception. Part of the promotion of this "brand" has been to make himself 'seen' mingling with politicians and celebrities... even when they have no use for him. Elton John, for example, angrily denied that he and Trump were friends and made it clear that he had only played Trump's reception for the money.

Probably for the same reason that libs are such great Monday morning QBs. People love to jump on things that are going up ... like that old saying about hitching a wagon to a star. The fair weather friends thing usually goes both ways when that comes into play ... it's all perception about who or what is going up or down. Of course, despite evidence to the contrary, our local libs think (wish really) Trump is going down.

That's 2 examples. You don't think the Clinton's loved being pictured with him? Before he decided to run most of these folks would have done anything to be pictured with or have dinner with Trump. He is very successful and no matter how much you all say he isn't doesn't change facts.

I think they were indifferent to him and they wouldn't have gone to his wedding if he hadn't basically paid them to be there.
