The transfer portal will lose its allure. Most of these kids aren't going to get a better spot and only around 20% of P5 transfers are finding a P5 spot. Players think it's a great way to explore their options, and schools have been letting them. But if schools start pulling scholarships behind players, the portal will create a lot of players with no scholarship and nowhere to go.

They all know that their scholarship is not protected when they enter the portal. I don't recall reading an article where a scholarship was pulled but I'm sure some coach has pulled one when a player decided to stay.

The portal has worked out for UT. We've trimmed rosters by losing some players the coaches were content to lose. And we've picked up a few players that filled gaps. But UT Compliance warns players of the risk and tells them their spot isn't guaranteed once they enter the portal. And at least one UT coach has taken it a step further and told a player to decide "in or out" because it was impacting the team. I think we'll see more of that.
Short-term, yes. But our time will come too and we'll be the ones cursing the portal like others.

Question for you guys, what's the earliest you would suggest bringing a child to a game? I have 15 month old twins and hadn't missed going to at least one game a season since 2009, until last season. I think they will still be too young this season, but maybe next? I'm just itching to get back, but want to bring them along.

That's pretty young for taking young ones to that environment. I would be miserable trying to keep them safe from any kind of harm. Drunks in the stands would be my biggest concern. If you go to a day game with them, how will you keep them from getting sunburned? Sounds like a baby sitter may be your best bet until they get much older. Just my opinion though.

New article on Opponent #1 - Ga St. Not only were they 2-10 last year, but they put up the 4th worst pass defense (going by opponent QBR) of the past DECADE in all of FBS.

They had to start 4 freshman in the secondary and should therefore be improved, but I would love to see us get on track in game #1 and rip off 300+ passing yards with our far superior WR corps.

Fwiw we put up our own worst-of-the-decade pass defense (opponent QBR) last year too with a whole new defense, having to play freshman, lack of pass rush, etc, so we sort of know what that is like having to break kids in. Some of that because of scheme as well I would think.

This. 5-6 YO should be the bare minimum. Before that, they honestly won't remember a thing anyway so why go through the hassle?

Plus, toddlers are jerks.

Callahan says there’s nothing to report
"Not the leader, but they're up there now. Just spoke with Shaw myself, and he clearly likes Tennessee, but there are a handful of teams at the top of his list. "

Even worse than leading for some guy. We are just one of those "up there" teams. Price needs to STFU and stop daydrinking. Or maybe I should start daydrinking. Hmmm

But I did like someone else's response to Ryan's "nothing to report right now":

"No Ryan.. That is too clear.. Your supposed to send cryptic, vague tweets to get everyone in a tizzy.. "

You have no idea if price was talking about Shaw..

Two separate thoughts. Callahan was responding to price stirring up the loading of cannons. But yes Callahan posts “up there” for almost every article.

"I wipe until my butthole bleeds
Oh man..this time it's really deep
Oh yeah right there its still dirty
I wipe my butt until it bleeds..."
