You're point is wrong, some are misleading and most importantly, you're way late and no one cares.
Pick 1 of your other 100 hot takes.

That’s just a silly thing to say that we were recruiting guys that no one wanted lol. Butch was a complete disaster after the 2014/2015 classes..... idk exactly what happened ...obviously some kind of change in scouting or philosophy (my guess behind it all is that Bob Welton had too much say over personnel some where after that because he didn’t early on and then our whole camps, visit, offers etc starting looking different. But he started out red hot which is why we were damn good for two years. And should’ve had double digit wins twice.
It's possible there was a shift in philosophy. In my mind it is simpler. We blew huge opportunities and the infamous Butch quotes didn't help either.
it was smoke and mirrors cause none of it was sustainable. it was a house of cards that came crumbling down the minute he started to field questions on Hurd, his status and why championships weren't important.Lol you and VQ guys basically said we only recruited people no one wanted lol. That’s just 100% false.
I’m not making any excuses for some of his later classes. They were ass. But this whole notion that we never recruited well here and it was all smoke and mirrors and fake 4 stars is honestly just stupid. Production, The draft and NFL rosters all prove that.
But Pruitt said he didn't really know the majority of the players so that doesn't lead one to believe they were highly sought after even if they had an offer. Of course there were some at the beginning that a lot of schools would have taken. You can either prove your point, or stop trying to make it. In hindsight quite a few of the CBJ era guys didn't pan out, well documented. But to act like they didn't have other big time school offers is easily disputed. The information is out there. If they had an offer the assumption is they picked us OVER the other schools who offered, that's not an outlandish claim to make or a "hot take" it's the only tangible evidence that exist.
It's not like Bama or Florida and other schools are going to release a "we offered, but weren't actually going to take 'em" list or anything.
The draft? Thought the draft proved we hit a record for NO players taken in something like 3 out of 5 years. Which is totally completely unbelievable at Tennessee.Lol you and VQ guys basically said we only recruited people no one wanted lol. That’s just 100% false.

I made my point, you and the other couple keep changing it so that you have something to argue. You can either prove your point, or stop trying to make it. We had some good ones but the actual topic was all the other generic 4 stars that helped the rankings but weren't what we needed. The draft? Thought the draft proved we hit a record for NO players taken in something like 3 out of 5 years. Which is totally completely unbelievable at Tennessee.

I'll do it one more time since you guys have changed it so much, most have probably forgotten what was actually said.
Neither me or the VQ guys said he never recruited anyone (clear enough?)
They, and I, said that Jones "filled his classes with paper 4 stars", therefore raising the class rankings higher but those filler players were never SEC caliber.
Pruitt could do that but only makes the fans feel better and it's pointless.
Now, you can prove any of that wrong without you or Hank changing it AGAIN?
FTR, i remember disucssions back then about this topic. at the time, obviously hard to predict, but even in some of the player threads, i remember some healthy debates about folks taking liberites with the "got him over OSU and Bama" b/c they were on a kid's offer list......when in reality, if that kid did have a spot at one time, he probably didn't in the end, or was told he wouldn't during the process. We had some good ones but the actual topic was all the other generic 4 stars that helped the rankings but weren't what we needed.
Moco and Hank have both been changing the point made so that they can argue it.
"they" don't do the ratings. That's funny that those guys even had the nerve to say that considering their employer had them ranked 4 stars to begin with. So they aren't SEC caliber, but they were good enough to be four stars on their platform. Then those guys will turn around and clamor for a 3 star that the staff supposedly loves and believe they are SEC caliber. You can't have it both ways. All they had to say was a bunch of the four stars Butch landed didn't pan out for whatever reason. But to say they simply weren't SEC caliber 4 stars is laughable.
Having a different opinion than their bosses is "having it both ways"?That's funny that those guys even had the nerve to say that considering their employer had them ranked 4 stars to begin with. I'm in the camp that the S&C coach and lack of leadership were huge factors. We had record setting injuries under Butch and it got worse every year. The team grew less disciplined in the weight room. We were a small team by SEC standards. We became lazy to the point they didn't seem to care at all in 2017 INCLUDING Butch.
