The next couple of seasons are pretty simple-- this staff must fully develop the talent they have to work with (both on and off the field- S&C), win the games they are supposed to, out coach a few rivals and win one or two we weren't picked to win, keep the recruiting train rolling as best we can considering it will be slow since we don't have that much to sell and it is easy to negative recruit us, and I think things will start to fall in place.
We will start getting the higher-tier kids because they will see this staff is creating a great body of work and doing the best with what we have/progressing (not throwing out gimmicky soundbites and taglines, really coaching)... They will see this staff can actually coach and develop players to get to the next level, unlike the numb-nut before, and all of a sudden UT will start to be a place kids want to come be a part of...
We (Staff) must figure out a way to start beating FL and GA, which will be the biggest hurdles in our long term success on the field and in recruiting... we don't figure that out and unfortunately we will be looking for another coach in 3-4 yrs. The deck is stacked against us since GA is currently a recruiting juggernaut/nightmare and doesn't look to be going anywhere but up in the next few seasons. All signs so far point to Pruitt and Co being the guys to get us out of the ditch we are currently wallowing in...
