No. I’m the opposite of you. I’m like 60/40 BYU.
We’re gonna hate crime them! Our students should be protesting.Yeah, them upsetting Wiscy last year gave me real pause in labeling this as a 'should-win'.
Their returning production (O, D, Total)
BYU 69% (48th); 57% (85th); 63% (65th)
Tanner Mangum is graduated, but their QB of the future is a sophomore that had a 12:3 TD/Int ratio last year (although to be fair, he racked up most of his TD's against Hawaii, UMass, and Western Michigan).
Idk, the applicable word for BYU is "Solid" to me. And we're the opposite of "solid" right now, with churning at LB and along the OL, and replacing basically the entire DL. We're going to need our athletes to make plays.
Yeah, I think Bryant just used his Grad transfer to lose the starting job again...I'm not sold on him as a SEC QB, his lone season as the guy at Clemson wasn't anything to write home about.
I agree about Georgia & USC being cyclical mostly. I don't know about Florida, they have had quite an odd off-season for it to still just be May and I'm honestly not sure what to expect with the amount of new starters they'll put out.
agree, but like you said, it's still an unknown, til it's not. couple that with the lack of good news so far this off season and you get what we have right now.....anxiety level running a tad high.So many unknowns-- and while many take that as a negative, it could be the opposite. How high is the ceiling for some of the guys who haven't performed at the level expected? How quickly can the new guys get game-ready? How much will the improved team chemistry and conditioning help? How much "want-to does this team have and will that translate into more wins or just a more competitive effort? How much more can Chaney improve this offense? How much better can JG be... and do we have a solid backup? Overall, I see more upside than downside.
Through the Kentucky game you could see what these coaches and players could potentially be. The decline was mostly from the non existent s&c from the previous staff and Pruitt trying to power through it during the season. They ran out of gas. That should be less of an issue this season as there have already been tremendous strides made in a year and a half training with fitz. Throw in upgrades to the staff and experience coming back and I expect a good season.
Yeah, I watched some highlights of his (unfortunately no "lowlights" are ever available to paint the whole picture)..
His legs are going to be the wildcard. And he does seem to find the open guy and take what the defense gives him. Throw out all of the bomb plays against crap teams like the Citadel, I think he's still competent at the minimum.
Don’t agree with Warrior being on there
agree on Beasley. im hopeful he and Harrison both turn out the way we think they can. both just look like good all around football players. He was 2nd on the team last year in tackles. I think Taylor is getting slept on a lot, and I'm fine with that. This secondary should be our strongest unit and we've got some serious talent coming in to push for snaps and help the guys already here stay motivated.
McCollough, Fields, Burrell, Beasley, Gibbs and then even Harris if he gets qualified. Solomon might turn out to be a stud too, but I think he's a RS candidate this season to help develop him a bit more before he sees the field.
I'm really high on Beasley personally, with his size he could be that hybrid DB/LB body that can cover as well as help in the running game.

I agree. He was very pedestrian at Clemson surrounded by really great talent. Mizzou won't have near that talent level and they have Dooley. I am still not sold on Dooley as an OC.Yeah, I think Bryant just used his Grad transfer to lose the starting job again...I'm not sold on him as a SEC QB, his lone season as the guy at Clemson wasn't anything to write home about.
