Ubben’s statement here should be a wake up call to the 8+ win crowd.
Gut feeling is the UGA game. Other than 2017 it’s almost always a game. Even last year we gave a bit of a fight. We get a bye week before that game too. Hopefully Chaney has a hell of a game plan drawn up and we get a pick 6/special teams TD early.I agree, going to Missouri after they've hung 50 on us the last two seasons isn't a game I'd favor us in.
4-0 in OOC will be big this season. We then get USC here and we should have won last year there, we also beat the best KY team in program history and they lost a ton so I think that's another win. Then you beat Vanderbilt at home and you've got 7 wins...
I think we can surprise someone out of the other 5 games (AL, GA, FL, MO, MSST) but who knows.
Want to know what's hurting recruiting? Talk of a long rebuild. The longer recruits think it will take, the less the elite ones want to come... and the less likely we are to keep an elite staff together.
Yeah I think GA (being here) and MSST (being here) seem good candidates...I am also not ruling out upsetting Missouri at their place either. Not sure how much I buy that Dooley is a good/great OC just yet, he had a NFL QB in his 4th year as a starter last year.

Lock was great but Dooley is a good offensive mind. Especially developing passing and route concepts.
Missouri did a lot of the same things schematics wise that we did while Dooley was our HC. They just a lot better of a qb
There was a noticeable difference at GA in year 2 under Kirby. And it wasn’t the talent. It was the mentality. I want and expect to see that this year from our team.Kiffin, Dooley and Butch have beaten this fanbase down.
Pruitt will have this team believing they can win every game.
I ain't counting them out of any game.

I pretty much agree but that's the narrative put forth by many in the media. I can't stop them so my guesses have to include their influence, as well as negative recruiting.Want to know what's hurting recruiting? Talk of a long rebuild. True, but I'm also not certain what everyone saying it's a rebuild considers "rebuilt" either. For me UT being an 8+ win team consistently again would be good. I think 10 or so wins is where most want to be, but I feel like once you cross 8 wins on a regular basis and are competitive in the other 4 even in losses you're basically where everyone who isn't Bama/Clemson/Ohio State is at that point.
Well except Vandy & Missouri both have lost nearly 50% of their team production from last year...whereas we lost next to nothing (especially on offense).
So yeah it's very easy to say Butch didn't develop talent, but with Pruitt entering year 2 with 2 offseasons of work with the roster we are ahead of those two teams (I am not certain we're ahead of Missouri, because of how good they are at developing guys...or were, yet to be seen if Odom can do it like Gary did).
